I'm having this same issue!

here to say I'm experiencing similar - was able to finish the ink & quill chain but after the writer's mind quest I am at a loss for what's supposed to be next. Not sure if I missed something or if a bug but I've scoured the entire place for a new quest and haven't found anything

Since the last update the quests "Ink & Quill: A Writer's Tale" and "Strange Stones" are kinda resetted.

"Ink & Quill: A Writer's Tale": checkboxes filled/finished for
✓ Get a book from the Library
✓ Finish reading the book
✓ Return the book in the Library
Thats it - there is no task left for practice writing anymore.

"Strange Stones": (after first starting the game) checkboxes filled/finished for
✓ Find the mysterious stone tables 6/6
After once (or more) switching to another quest and back to this one, these will be updated again to the actual state of play which is:
✓ Find the mysterious stone tables 6/6
✓ Speak to the Museum Curator about the mysterious stone tablets
⃝ Use the archeology set at the university to analyse the tablets (which I can't do bc I never got an university letter)

This trick does not work for the quest "Ink & Quill: A Writer's Tale".

I'm having a sligthly different issue, but still quest related... the quests don't show the next part even in the big quest menue? somehow they only add the text for next step in the quest if I have that quest showing when finishing a step...
feks. I completed the "reach crafting interest level 4" step in the "an educated confession" and got the phonecall but I were had another quest showing as I finished the step... so now it has that step grayed out but not showing the next step...
I can still complete a next step even if I can't see it and that will fix it(if I have that quest showing when doing so), but I sort of have to actually know what the next step is to do that-.-' and resetting the game doesn't fix it...

my problem is that no new main quests show up :( i hope this will be fixed soon <3

The patch 0.52.20 fixed an issue where some main quests went missing. It will add them through a phone call after a few minutes.

Regarding the Ink n Quill quest lock, it got fixed few weeks ago
