Im loving the game so far but the jump working not working, only working extremely late into the jump, thing is really bothering me

I've just fired up the game on my Linux system and I am presented with a tiny screen in the top-left corner of my monitor. Naturally, this is unplayable so is there a way I can make the game full-screen? The usual window-manager button does not work.
