Hey, I just started playing this game today on my Steam Deck and i was having the same issue but it's an easy fix. When you first downloaded the game,the game gets installed with the Scout 1.0 Proton. You'll need to change this in order for the game to launch. You'll need to go to the properties section of the deck and select force compatibility and then select Proton 9.0 from the options of all the protons given to you. After selecting Proton 9.0,back out of the properties menu and return to the screen where you would launch the game from. Now you'll notice that the play selection is replaced with the update option. click on the update selection and let the game update on the Deck. After the game updates,you'll be able to launch the game and start playing. Also just some heads up, the game doesn't have the Native Resolution for the steam deack which is 1200x820 The resolution by default is set too high for the deck to run the game smoothly. The game is set by default to 1920x1080 if you choose to play with this resolution you will be able to play for 25-30 minutes the the game will start to lag a lot due to frame rate drops. So to avoid this problem, select the next resolution that the deck can handle. The resolution that you should choose is 1200x720 The game will run flawless on this resolution setting. i've just put in about 3 straight solid hours of game play on this resolution setting without any problems. The game ran smoothly the whole time. Enjoy this awesome game!
