I mean yeah, that's the point, not every game has to be made for every person. If 90% of the games on steam do something you like, you should play those games. the company already made a game that won game of the year. This is a passion project from them and has been clearly laid out with their goals and ideas for nearly 3 years now. So it would be really weird to expect them to completely backpedal their dream and vision because a few people think it's too hard. If you want a game that is not like rust you downloaded the wrong game and should play another one ffs.
Maybe YOU'RE happy with the lackluster games that take years of early access and Dev updates just to get working 'properly' but the rest of us would like to have a reason to spend our money on games that reflect OUR vision, not that of a Dev looking to cash in on a cheap copy of an already released game. Facepunch can allow VR and all they have to do is optimize the server "FFS"
If you want to try it. (It's not easy to set up)

And this just proves that even if you won game of the century last year.... it only matters what the player base WANTS this year! (some devs shelf projects that just aren't going to sell right now, but may later.)
Maybe YOU should hold off on giving advice until you get a bit older.
I realize Devs have to weigh the difference between what the public will 'pay' for and what they want and if the customers are few and far between, Devs will have to make allowances to suit alternate consoles.
Far too many VR games are already open to Keyboard/mouse players, which to me is ♥♥♥♥ ridiculous. How is there ANY comparison between "full-body" and "wrist and finger" motion?
The KBM players know this and join en'masse to play against some new VR guy just trying to calibrate his feet to head and how to 'shoot' a gun! It's an uneven field of play. Unfair to all the people who think they're just playing against other VR players. (Pavlov &Contractors do this)
But I'm glad some Devs have seen through thier projects and still support the servers to play on but I'm sure you're right when you say that it's a niche market... but it's growing FAST and these grassroots Devs need to get ahead somehow. Still... I think they should seperate the servers by kbm/controller/vr styles. just sayin'
