Game Crashing
So far I have been playing it on and off, but every time I do it keeps on crashing on me. The settings are set to high and ray tracing is on. I've played many games like this and have had no issues in the past. Wanted to play the game how it is intended to with this type of settings but I've read a couple of discussions stating the ray tracing should be turned off and frame rate should be set at a certain number. It's unfortunate since it's such a beautiful and great game yet it performs so sluggish, definitely not what I payed for. Anyone else dealing with this problem?

Firstly do you have a GPU that supports ray tracing? A GTX GPU for example does not, but an RTX card does.

I'm using the GOG version and have the same problem, running a RTX 2070 super as well.
Disabling ray tracing in game fixed the problem, but its a shame, since it looks not as nice without.
Well, at least i can play.

i have a 4090 and my pc completely freezes up. I turned down the max framerate to 60 and the game didnt crash during play but when I closed the game it froze and i have to force a reboot

When does it crash? Immediately after launching the game? In the middle of play? When trying to close the game?

I have RTX 4050 in my laptop.
The game crashed every time after 5-10 min of play.
I've managed to solve the problem by changing the Framerate in Video settings from "Unlimited" to 60.
Now it runs perfectly with High graphics settings and RTX on.
I hope it will help someone.

Dear developer. I have the original Observer still, not the redux version. Paid proper money for it back then, wished to play it now. However it exits to windows exactly after 1 min. Doesn't matter if I start the game or just wait in the menu, which leads me to think, that it's not a hardware-related issue. Is this scripted to keep people having the original version from playing? Back then, we only had one option to buy this game and we did. So why can't we play the game, what did we do wrong?

No answer... This is just borderline illegal scam practice and many are complaining over at the discussion board of the original release here. To think that they put extra effort just to screw people over and issue such a vile block of the game... while devs are just laying low, tucking their head between their shoulders, counting the money they got for an unusable product. Then again - I don't know why I even expected anything else.
