After 162 hours Im done (Salty Rant)
This game is going no where. No real ranked mode and reason to play. I feel like ive reached my peak of skill by getting to floor 10 with everyone i like, Theres no reason to grind this game casually. No ranked mode, no BP, no costumes, nothing to grind for. Community tournaments dont count either. Im going back to GBVSR and SF6 games that have stuff to do and goals to achieve. Not to mention 2XKO is coming out, I hope that 2XKO kills this game. wasted dev time on 3v3 and still no ranked mode + horrible net code, ASW deserves the downfall of this game. Call me bad, call it a skill issue idc. Acting like this game is ok in its current state is super ignorant. I hope that this game can improve and survive but seeing what new fighting games are coming soon and what current games are adding, I doubt this game can make a comeback. Its deserved tho ASW never listens and cant balance the game or do the minimum like a ranked mode.

As much as I still love this game, "never listens" part is 100% true. But they did listen with pot, so who knows

I think the point of playing a fighting game is to fight other players and have fun doing so instead of grinding for achievements or points. Idk tho I'm just a floor 8 scrub as of now

Yea and every other FG has a ranked system that promotes this and makes the game fun. Theres no fun getting to floor 10 and just staying there. Attitudes like yours are why fighting games are behind most other genres of games. Playing a game just to play it insist enough in todays gaming landscape. Their needs to be rewards or progression. Two things that GGST dosent have.

there is one more floor beyond floor 10 called the celestial floor that is filled with the best players in the game.

if you need a BP or constant feedback or in game rewards to stay motivated to play this game or fighting games in general, i dont think fighting games are for you. the ''reward'' comes from enjoying playing the game against other people and honing your own skills.

i agree the ranked mode sucks but thats just cause the tower system in general is kinda ass. also its kinda universally agreed upon that season 4 in its current state is kinda ass and ASW has clearly seen the feedback its gotten, even delaying venom to make sure they do better this time around, so i have hope for this season yet.

But Op, you get digital money to fish and unlock avatars, art, Digital Galery ,and OSTS!

quip over. You are right, this game has little to no content and no carrot on a stick whatsoever to keep playing. Also many people don't like how explosive the damage is in this game.

OK, but why? Is grinding just that fun for you or do you think the game needs it because other popular games do it too? I'm genuinely trying to understand your perspective here because it's baffling to me

people can't play the game for its own fun anymore. You need a bunch of extrinsic rewards, hamster wheels and cake on a stick to keep you playing, like other games do these days.

A Badge system, account level, prestiege, lootboxes, mastery skins, some system that you can grind towards.

thats what OP is complaining about, cause this game has little to none.

Doesn't change the fact that Strive lacks a lot of content when compared to all previous entries but the first one.

You only have 15 hours in this game so its all still fun and new to you. That honeymoon phase will wear off real quick and one you peak in you skill or get stuck in a floor for a bit you will understand and see that this game has no longevity or reasons to play.

So are you ever going to answer my question as to why you want grinding or find it anything but a slog or are you going to keep dodging like a child?

Nevermind. How about this: I have 1.5k hours in TF2, you have something in the ~4k range. Assuming you aren't a trader or idler, did you get to that playtime by actually enjoying the game or by grinding stranges or something?

TF2 is a game with much much more content that strive. Community servers with stuff like jailbreak, idle servers, X100 servers, etc. Theres much more to do in the game than strive. Theirs different types of weapons, hats to wear, tons of map etc, Seasonal events as well. Theirs so so so much more in tf2 making it a very bad comparison. Theirs also ranked mode and QP matchmaking not to mention MVM. Thats like what 3 official modes plus the 1000's of community servers and content. Also you earn cases and drops for playing the game so their is a reason to grind. Also you can grind mvm. TF2 has plenty to grind while strive has nothing. and even if Tf2 had nothing to grind it has much more content than most games so its can be played for a very long time. Strive has none of these things and no reason to grind or to keep playing. I enjoyed tf2 cause its a fun games with lots to do. Strive is good but has alot less and needs to have more in the game to attract and keep people invested.

fighting games are not for you, the reason to ''grind'' strive (or any fighter) is to improve your skills and get better so you can keep fighting stronger opponents. if you need constant rewards or achievements go play something else, because ultimately fighting games will not offer what you want out of the experience.

once you peak in skill the game slows down a lot, yes. and getting stuck on a floor can suck but it should only motivate you to improve and push past your current limit. this game has been going strong for years now too with an active competitive scene

Sf6 and Granblue both have ranked modes, things to earns, costumes, daily challenges, a battle pass, character achievements, and more. My point is that strive lacks content and needs more systems and things added. It needs to catch up to other current fighting games in terms of content.
