horrible game, unfinished, buggy, janky, buy 7 days to die instead, or just save your money and get project zomboid

I'm so pissed at the guy I saw at the top so I will post this review as counter to theirs, while writing roughly what their arguments were about why the game was bad

1. "I can't skip night through rest, game is time consuming" It's a game that bases gameplay around being a nightly defense against waves of zombies, of course you can't skip night. It's like wanting to skip bosses in souls-like games.
2. "Looting is time consuming, animation is dumb" Looting takes about 3 seconds at the beginning of the game, at the end of the day, it's still zombie survival game, so you will need that you vs zombies part. You can't just run through location spamming interact and then loot all to avoid combat.
3. "followers are dumb". Yeah, cuz they're a new addition. I can't really say much more, don't expect a lot from this feature, hopefully they will expand on it in later patches
4. "dumb zombie AI, they attack floor instead of running past traps". That is mostly problem on your end, building in this game is not confusing all the time, but it has it's quirks, you'd have to make some adjustments and they would run past shredder as intended. Never had that problem.
5. "very small radius of spawning zombies and animals even with huge distance view". Distance view =/= spawn rate. Animal meat and skin can be aquired through means of small and big animal traps, so it's not really relevant for them to roam around woods so much. It makes the game less vibrant with life, but it is what it is, it's a bummer. But zombies? Have you been in cities? There's spawn point on almost every building of those, some smaller POIs don't have those, but still, there's alot of zombies. Especially at *NIGHTS* because it's NIGHT of the dead.
6. "hitboxes are buggy, animations are broken". Hitboxes can sometimes be funny when attacking ores or trees, but I've never had better hitboxes when it comes to zombies, if anything, for my advantage. If I had bluetooth attacks from zombies, they were caused by my own lags, not game.
7. "I need processed leather for lower levels of upgrading/reforging, but then I need normal leather". I don't even know where to begin, like. Obviously you need more refined resources as you upgrade something on higher levels?
8. "I can't remove quiver on my leg" It's odd aesthetic choice of the game, but remember, you're a survivor in zombie apocalypse setting. The fact you're not using a bow right now or at all doesn't mean you shouldn't have something like this by your side. As much as it might be effing with your vibe, it's a normal thing that makes sense in such setting. That's just nitpicking on why the game is "bad"
9. "no time skip option while there's nothing to do". There's always something to be done, from improving on your base, base defense or food resources to upgrading your gear, REFORGING not upgrading your gear, studying certain mechanics and what something can give us (coils in game can give us for example additional resistances and abilities, such as chance for setting enemy on fire with each attack, range or melee).
10. "no option to remove parts from your weapons" Yes there is???? That's just straight up skill issue, my guy, I've attached and deattached countless things to my gear
11. I can't even make "basically this" thing here, the guy straight up says he made a mistake by setting no zombies spawn and then had issues with one quest that required him to clear a city that's already been cleared. How can you make problems about no zombie spawns and then admit you set "no zombie spawning" later? wtf.
12. "zombies killed by traps don't count to survivor quests". Not a big deal, but you mentioned it. You can't farm nor cheese them, because survivor quests require you to EXPLORE A HUGE MAP so you move around so you can't just wait for night and kill them while sitting in roughly 2 spots.
13. I think there's a mention that nights are tough in this game. pendulum and cutters are enough to survive first night. Even then, you have plenty of other ways to survive first night. It's not as hard as you describe it, bruh.

Finally, they said "it's a cheap copy of 7 days to die". It's not, it was made because 7 days to die had no real competition and it stayed in one place because they could. This game is amazing and as much as 7 days is more refined (even tho still buggy as hell) we must remember 7d2d IS 10+ YEARS OLD. This game does amazingly for a game that's been out for 4,5y, especially from small development team such as Jackto studios.

TL;DR
The guy that reviewed the game as "bad" pissed me off because most of his arguments were purely his skill issue. This game isn't the easiest or the most refined games out there, but it surely amazing to play. Remember that it's been made by small studio, so don't expect huge things from it, as some systems are still getting polished, some reworked, some might even be remade, this is a pretty fresh game when you compare it to it's biggest competetitor, 7 days to die. I wouldn't be even surprised if it was made purely because 7 days were so long in alpha and updates were so rare and so small and group of players said "this sucks, we will make our version of it". It's not an easy game, but it's one of the games you might need some wiki to play with, additionally you might want to have a test run of it, then making a normal playthrough of it to understand how everything is.

I hate when people review the game as "bad" because they can't be assed to check the mechanics or anything about the said game.

Worth it 100%! It's like Orcs Must die mixed with a survival game.
