The Case of the Vanishing Trap Mod Blades (and lubricants)
First time I'm seeing this:
Loaded up game and noticed that ALL the trap mod blades in my Shockers are gone!
Why is this glitch particularly heinous? Let's break this evil crap down:
I lost six +5 Blades! That's 36 lubricants -- the MOST difficult to accumulate commodity in the game, by far. You can't buy them. You can't make them. They drop in tiny numbers in dungeons and in endlessly looting ammo lockers/gray cabinets. Period.

Possibly this is a later day phenomena (happened on Day 77)?
That's a ton of non-save scumming time gone LOL.
(not even sure how effective mod blades in Plasma Shockers are. Technically, they SHOULD ramp up an already powerful AoE trap to even greater damage...)

yea this sucks. i hate hearing about these item loss bugs. the same thing can happen to coils in armors when you remove them for upgrading. they just disappear. then there's the notorious X over all your items.

all these bugs are related to the save file handling system. it's like the game fails to handle the save data correctly so some stuff gets lost.

some people have even mentioned that they've lost gear items but i never had that one happen. but it has been mentioned.
thanks Shadow, you're always there to fill in the backstory. I actually haven't experienced any of those losses. I had to delete a bunch of old saves to make Steam room for sync'ing current saves. I'm pretty sure that's when it happened (nothing to do with game date as I took a wild guess at).
Welp, I don't get to say this often in a game, but "heading out to loot for lube!" Haha.
lol. good luck

and you made me think of something when you mention steam sync. don't use the cloud with this game unless you absolutely need it to play on 2 PC's. the cloud messes up with this game. it messes up save data. :)

something i knew a long time ago and i disabled mine, been working fine since (used to have a lot of save problems). i never think to mention it to someone until they mention it to me :p

I've had the stuff go missing from traps { you bastards } :steamfacepalm: but not my coils before!
Gonna have to check and see how my save works with steam.
Yeah I had that turned off apparently.

yea good, my advice is to not use steam cloud with NOTD. i had problems with it and notified the devs back when they were devving and they said that they knew there was a steam cloud problem and they were working to solve it but i think they never did.

if you use the steam cloud you should at least familiarize yourself with where the save files are and how you can manually back them up. do regular manual backups in case things go wrong you can restore the files and hope they get read into the cloud.

that was always my problem with it, seemed like it sometimes wouldn't be reading my files in like it was supposed to so i'd be rolled back to a previous save. like i couldn't control where it was loading my save data, from my PC or from the cloud.

Ohhh wow that is new to me! I was thinking the opposite -- that NOT syncing to the cloud was the problem. Damn, this is an important point to pin. Thanks!!!

Just as a sidenote, my files are syncing with Steam Cloud and I have not had any issues. (I have hundreds of savefiles from all the testing, none have been corrupt this far, though I am always connected to the net.)

yea some people are lucky and the whole thing works fine for them. i mean it's enabled by default and you can plainly see most people play fine but for me it was always bugged. :/

maybe it's fixed now i just never turned it back on after i flipped it off because i don't use it.

but if you're having data loss issues i would try disabling it and see if it helps
