I didn't even notice one of the top comments was a complaint against Ken players. I didn't even look before posting. That shows that I'm not alone, here.

Now to actually address your reply, Peddie. Are you really gonna use your typical hypocritical positivity to refute that Ken being picked excessively is a problem in SF6? Ken's historic role in the series is irrelevant. Everybody is sick of seeing him.

I fail to see how it's a problem, he hasn't even been the most popular character for most of season 2, that honour's fallen to Akuma. Most players don't even know tier lists exist, they just pick Ken because he's that cool guy they've been picking since whenever they started playing Street Fighter. Or the fact that he's very easy to use but more flashy than Ryu.

Sure it can be annoying to go against your worst match-up a few times in a row, but hey, that's how you learn. And at the end of the day there isn't really any data to suggest you'd be going against Ken 1/2 of your matches when the global average puts Ken around 9-10% pickrate in most recent months. So sure, statistically you totally can go against a Ken a few times in a row, but so what? You play the match, you'll go against someone other than Ken soon enough.

Ryu was the second most played character of season 1 and he was widely considered to be one of the worst characters of the season, thus highlighting that most people don't care about tier lists or whatever, a familiar face that is easy to play is plenty to convince folks to pick a character. So even if they nerfed Ken into the ground it wouldn't stop him from being a top 3 pick in the game because uh, most people don't even read patch notes. They just pick him because he has a cooler Shoryuken than Ryu.

And frankly pickrates in and of themselves shouldn't be a reason for a nerf, and as it is most pros don't even consider Ken top 3 material any more.

I can understand being tired of certain characters but the reality is if you wanna play Street Fighter you're gonna run into Ryu and you're going to run into Ken and you're going to run into Zangief and that's the deal.
No different than Scorpion, Sub-Zero, or Liu Kang; They're gonna be on your screen.

Honestly if this sort of thing ruins a game for you then I really don't know what pvp game I could recommend, genuinely.

Dude, imagine playing a side-scrolling fighting game like Turtles in Time, but every other enemy was the same sprite. You'd think that was wack! I know SF6 isn't always like this, but right now, today, it is for me, and days like this aren't isolated events. They occur frequently. Ppl watch Youtube videos of Ken players steamrolling ppl and so they then main him, lol.

Yeah, Akuma is another one. Don't even get me started on him. And, as always, you're the worst, lol. Dude, do you play the game? Kens are EVERY OTHER MATCH! It's the most complained about topic in this game. Why do you do this? Why do you counter-argue just for the sake of it?

I play Ken because I've always played Ken and enjoy it. Glad to know I'm ruining your day :D

If you're an OG Ken enjoyer, that's fine, but you know there's a huge subset of Ken players who pick Ken just because they watched Youtube.

There's a certain character I hate the most. (I'm not gonna say who it is or else I'll be judged, lol). When I was matched against the character after so many Kens, I was relieved and was happy. That should tell you how bad it is! lol

Ok, fine, I'll take your bait. I absolutely despise cheap DeeJay players who know how to exploit his cheese to the max. But today was different. Today, I actually faced newb DJ players and spanked them, but this is an exception, not a rule, lol.

The reason Ken is currently popular tho, in SF6, is pretty underwhelming and crappy.
