Hey Leo,
I think you guys are doing the best you can and doing a great job. I hope you can communicate this back to the team but try asking for ideas from the community. You want to try your best to make something different that is cool to space that makes your game unique aside from TDM, Domination, etc that many fps have tried. Keep those as a variety to your community and for when/if it grows. The reason I say the community on ideas is because they may give you guys some great ideas on what to try if you can't figure out any. Maybe even try a poll on some of the map designs and ideas to make the community feel like we're all involved. I saw someone mentioned allowing community people make maps in the future and making them rotations? They've made many suggestions on discord all of them are great but maybe give a leading question from them on game-mode ideas. We want to feel like a team with you guys as we want to support you guys. This is a hard task since you guys have taken on something completely new but I think you guys got it. Just stay calm even if some feedback is discouraging and keep communicating and adapting. People are watching. Try to set goals and try your best to meet them. I see you guys post on twitter but its about people streaming and just that (which nothing wrong with that but there has to be more). Also with marketing, try posting dev vlogs on a youtube channel, insta, and tiktok on what is to come or some ideas you guys have. I don't know if you guys have them but try to market your social medias and stuff. The marketing doesn't have to be now as you have work to do with the game but try to think about it in the near future. Try to keep messaging big creators, I notice someone got Shroud to play which is a good start to getting out there. Keep up the work and I wish you all the best.
Side note: Condolences to your loss and I hope you recovering well.
