The game was released prematurely, it quickly stopped getting worked on due to the developer's poor position and I have no idea if we'll ever see a new update, but what's there has so much potential only held back by common bugs and a lack of content.

If you didn't immediately click away after seeing "mostly negative" I'd say the game is worth your time as long as you know what you're getting into. I know the devs could have achieved their vision, the question is whether or not they'll be allowed to.

Look, this game has good bones. It really does. I love Starbound and I can tell some of the people responsible for this game also worked on Starbound. And quite frankly, as someone who enjoys Colony Sims, this game sorta functions in a way I wish the tenant system in Starbound did. I think that this game is going to go to great heights whenever they're able to work on it again.

But I do have some constructive critique, because inevitably the frustration of certain things has made me have to set the game down. At least for now. I will probably come back later after I have played more then an hour and a half to add stuff I enjoy, but I will focus on these right now:

1) The tutorial does not cover enough! For example: it should teach you how you revive dying survivors and how to get your survivors to revive each other.

2) Items in storage should automatically stack with each other, please. I am begging you. I'm unsure why sometimes there are multiple stacks of partial stacks. And there is also no clear indicator as to what a full stack for an item is. It seems a little random to me, but that specifically could be because I am tired at the moment.

3) Speaking of storage, I can't figure out how to quick move items by clicking, so I either have to move everything in my inventory or manually move everything.

4) Quality of life: if there is the required materials in storage and not in my inventory, I should not have to hunt down the required materials from storage in order to craft something. It would be nice if storage had a radius around it that allows you to craft from it. And, if you have wooden walls in storage or your inventory, you should be able to automatically place those rather then lining up new ones and wasting precious resources.

5) If an item is too close to another item, instead of telling you it's too close to another item it simply breaks the item you already placed for some reason. This is an infuriating mechanic. I assume this was implemented to save the player time while reformatting their base, but if that's the case there should be a toggle for it. Placing a ladder above my stockpile destroyed a stockpile after I spent 15 minutes organizing my stockpiles.

6) In Starbound, building behind you is using right click. I recommend simplifying the building mechanic in much the same way.

7) Survivors don't seem to spawn in with their own weapons regardless of their profession? The weaponsmith, at least, should spawn in with something.

8) Injured/dying should be able to be set on a bed, but the only option if you pick them up is to throw them.

9) For some reason, ladders are "sticky" and it can be difficult to get off of them. I almost lost a survivor because I needed to get up a ladder to grab my salve to make a medkit. And it's especially difficult to transition from ladder to platform. I think it might simplify movement if you make platforms, ladders, and stairs the same thing just placed differently. That should make it easier for survivors and the player to more seamlessly transition when moving between levels. Some of this is just that I am uncoordinated as a player, but I don't usually get stuck that badly.

10) I highly recommend setting up a custom priority system per survivor, rather then having a set priority system and only ticking boxes on/off.

11) I love that I can lock doors so my survivors won't go through them, but having to manually track everyone down in order to lock them in the house during a snowstorm isn't fun. I wish they'd seek shelter automatically.

12) Campfires are not permanent objects and I am unsure if there is a way to make them permanent.
