In case you are looking for an active group of gamers (+18 ONLY though, as we are all older players) to play BCoF with AND/OR might also be looking for "something more" than just playing an otherwise pretty meaningless series of single, completely unconnected battles/skirmishes....

We have devised and are currently testing something new: a strategic/operational level of play, using a play-by-post style on our clan's discord in connection with BCoF's tactical level. Keep in mind that this certainly more geared towards an older gamer generation (that might be more accustomed to that "arcane and old style" type of game play), but in case you are interested, let me know.

Not everyone has played a "play-by-post" game before (I got several PMs about that on discord):

"Play-by-post" is not as simple and effortless as just clicking buttons in your usual, modern strategy-type computer game, where everything is set out neatly with an interface, giving access to a multitude of units stats via a simple mouse-click and with units or facilities being displayed in neat visuals.

"Play-by-post" does not have a "UI" that you can click on for actions. It has only very limited "visual aids" (only a map, some written reports every turn). If you want to keep track of something special regarding the units under your command, you would have to set up your own spreadsheets (you are absolutely allowed to do so, but you need to do that yourself).

"Play-by-post" requires imagination on the participants part and the way we play is meant to recreate the actual situations of military commanders during the civil war, with all the limitations that entails.

Playing this way is also an act of "creative writing" - as you can put role playing parts into your postings and write/style your orders accordingly.
