You think an FUGA 3 would finally be open-exploration?
Been thinkin' on it for a while but maybe FUGA 3 would be less chase oriented, and rather the upgraded tank would serve as a means of transportation.
Yaknow, skies of arcadia style but on the ground.
When enemy tanks (Or whatever it would call "relics") get near your tank on the open world, an "WARNING!!" message would pop up and you get to directly drive it.
Cannons - M1 (Rebindable)
Grenade Launchers - M2 (Rebindable)
Machine Guns - Q (Rebindable) (Note: Why Q? Q is closest to the controls and so you can keep mobile at all times) (If I rebound it, since I have a corsair mouse I would bind it personally to M4, but not everyone has the latest mouse)

Anyways, I'm excited to see what the future holds...
Also, Fritz is a precious boi that must be protecc at all costs.

Assuming there is a third game, it will likely stick with the streamlined combat-centric approach, and just add a bit more complexity, as the second game did.

If they do go for a different approach, it would probably have a different title.

There are two things to keep in mind with these games.

1) They are a passion project of the devs.

2) They have the budget of your average office pizza party.

It's honestly kind of a miracle Fuga 1 came out let alone Fuga 2.
Trying to make an open world game would be way too expensive for them.
So no, they are going to save as much money as they can by reusing whatever they can while still trying to improve upon Fuga 2.

And honestly I'm glad, the games are both pretty unique and really good, so I hope they stick to this formula with a third game.

I wish we could go back and do more with Officer Waffle and the other characters, or at least go to a setting that isn't just "war.. war never changes". I remember being pretty surprised to learn Fuga was even part of that setting before I played it since it's kind of dark by comparison.

Although I suppose Solatorobo had some messed up stuff in it, too. Wish these were on Steam.

I could see it being "open exploration" in some sense but what you described is an entirely different type of game. I think if opening things up is on the table then what's more likely is it's a lot like the existing system but you get to pick your destination from each village. So travelling between nodes on a graph.

Imagine playing these two games and be dumb enough to think we might get open exploration in the next game

If you like tanks and exploration, metal max series is a good one, if you havent heard of that one, that is. The ps2 game metal saga is nice. There is a metal max on steam too but ive heard some bad stuff about that port, bugs and such

'Metal Max Xeno' and 'Xeno Reborn' are NOT good representatives of the Metal Max franchise; they were minimalist attempts to keep the series alive with jiggle-bait characters and are not truly open-world since you follow a linear counter-clockwise path across the map to a defined final boss with no real sidequests.

---

As for 'Fuga 3': If it happens, at most it will allow branching map destination selections. The team effectively made these out of their own pocket money while doing other things; very much the definition of a passion project.

Alright, i see. Thats for clearing that up. I actually had my eye on xeno reborn for awhile but had doubts about it, and yeah Fuga is a nice series.
