A good story with an interesting mechanic system of going through the process of taking care of a rice farm. It starts slow and tedious but as you progress your ability to do the work increases your speed of the work and as the story progresses you unlock tools that make the work significantly easier (and even faster).

Tying your farm and food to increase your powers for additional benefits is a good style, showing reliance on food and its creation in a way that is rarely depicted in any media.

I haven't quite finished yet, but I have enjoyed seeing Sakuya grow from being an orphan raised in the luxury left by her parents (kinda(?) like in the Emperor's New Groove) to truly caring about those around her over the months/years they spend together. She doesn't go through a sudden shift where she suddenly is just nice and polite to everyone, but it is gradual with little changes in how she interacts and respects others.

The supporting characters have their own special views of life from their past experiences that are slowly revealed as the story progresses. They depict a resilience against even the most terrible and unfair of situations as they continue to choose to support each other despite their differences and varied backgrounds rather than let those differences drive them apart.

Really unique game that Im hoping for a sequel in the future, it has it flags and instructions for the player are so minimal but even with all that I want another game build up with Sakuna design.

I first thought this was some stardew valley clone. Turns out it is a serious rice farming sim with some sort of platform action game levels inbetween, where you gather resources to make food and equipment. Threshing and hulling is where your NES International Track and Field experience comes handy.
