The game does not start
The game appears to be running on Steam, but the game does not start.

Game plays opening video in full screen, then it shrinks to a window, all black, and no response if you do Alt+Tab. I literally have to do a Ctrl+Alt+Delete and kill the task for it to stop.

Me too. But fixed that with the Widescreen Fix from github.
