time to jump ship yet?
they're going to fix the polls just like they did with the new skill poll... it's crazy how this game isn't even the game people wanted anymore and yall just stick with it... is this corporate greed going to finally be the thing that wakes everyone up?

the integrity was already broken many times where they made changes without polling it so i dont know why people hold so dear at the polling if they want it in it gets in as a needed update so the community has ♥♥♥♥ to say already....

ya, I gave up on it a while back. it was really telling when one of their reddit mods actually said "well you don't just expect us to let people post things without checking it?" or some such thing when I was questioning them censoring opinions on there >.>

mod pip is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tard.
It is of course fully within your rights to quit whenever/ due to whatever your perception is of the situation, and if that's what you end up doing then I truly wish you the best of luck with whatever game or hobby you move on to for fun.

Having said that, you should take the time to understand fully what it is that you are actually quitting over before doing so, because you owe yourself that much.

This is not a poll. These concepts have not even gotten to a planning stage yet. This is a fairly informal survey sent to a handful of players that the mods have made abundantly clear were not even their idea in the first place. If anything, the biggest likelihood here is that they purposefully did this survey in such as way as to generate the intensely negative reaction they knew was likely, to prove a point to the investment group that owns them that definitely came up with this idea. The mods are not idiots and most of them are avid players themselves these days, they definitely had an inkling that this would not go over well.

Say what you will about the current state of Jagex and how they process and respond to player feedback, but it's pretty hard to deny that this era is the most they have ever listened to the playerbase. The last time they made multiple, significant changes to monetization, they not only did so by pulling a complete 180 on the concept of microtransactions, they did it without asking us whatsoever. This time, they started from the get-go of asking for feedback before even starting to plan out changing anything, and they used a form of survey specifically designed to identify what things were most important (i have used this survey style plenty in marketing and it can be a powerful tool for identifying what customers find to really be important). That's a world of difference from how it was done in the past and it should be encouraging, even though we should obviously be wary of what will happen in the months to come.

Don't get me wrong, this survey definitely concerns me, and i'm going to be keeping a close eye on how things shake out under this new investment company. If Jagex tries to screw us over on this by going back on what they have claimed, i.e. they end up increasing the price to get what we get for the current membership package, rather than creating the reduced cost membership with ads and fewer perks they have talked about, then I will quit at that point. But I'm not doing it in anticipation of something that may never happen, because from my POV, that would be a bit premature, and just as likely to cause the things I don't want to see.
that's weird how they cherry pick who to send surveys to tho...

There's a difference between sending a survey to a cherry picked group and sending it to a selection of people most likely to provide solid, helpful feedback. The former produces bad survey results, the latter produces excellent survey results.

All i've seen so far from the group who got the survey was that it's largely a group of players who have played for a while and regularly provide feedback on proposed changes. That's generally a good group to start with when you're doing a quick, informal survey very early in the assessment stage.
Been playing for nearly 20 years, looks like I am gonna retire soon.

totally your decision, I know I will quit if they put ads on the base membership package/ increase the price to remain ad free. Just keep in mind that we are nowhere near this happening at this point: this was from an informal survey sent to a handful of players as an initial assessment of the possibility, not a planned action or a playerbase-wide poll.

idk if you never learnt about biases or what, but that's blatant confirmation bias...

jagex is excellent at generating echo chambers who's ideas happen to align with theirs and calling it community feedback... their reddit is proof of that. >.>
You can leave anytime you want. Nobody is forcing you to stay.

I stopped playing when they started adding meme skills to the game and I realised they were just generating the feedback they wanted by censoring opinions that don't align with what they want, cherry picking surveys; and calling it "community feedback" >.>
