Survival Mechanic should be optional
There is nothing fun about attempting to kill mobs and realize o hey I haven't ate food in 10min and i'm now losing hp to starvation. I don't see how forcing this on the player is enjoyable other than to be used as a content filler for a lack of content. Like hold on guys i need to go collect water then we can kill stuff.... Make it a mission modifier that gives a bonus when used? At the very least let the system auto consume what it needs when it needs it.

No, they make part of the game. I like they very much. And yes, you should check your status before going into battle. The whole game is about this.

I'm not saying remove, I'm saying make it a game mode optional.... no reason to force this on player's as it can be perceived as an annoyance and i'm sure i'm not alone in disliking forced mechanics that will punish you for not "paying attention" to a meter.
