Gatewalkers (Alpha)

Gatewalkers (Alpha)

IT's ALPHA !!
All you people coming on here complaining about basic items have no concept of game development. ITS ALPHA! Rough draft stuff. You ever see a movie that claims that places and names have been changed to protect the innocent. Well guess what, what you saw today, the next time you play you wont see and may never see again. IT's ALPHA! grainy, too much food, 20 times drinking a day, IT's ALPHA. Come in her complaining about something as trivial as amount of food - " I can't play a game you have to eat 20x a day!" You're going to pass up a otherwise amazing game on DAY 1 OF ALPHA, because you have to eat more than you think you should! Guys don't come in the forums and knock a game about trivial crap like food, or the grainy appearance in some areas, the game is getting so much inspiration from other places, and all the other countless negative comments about DAY 1 OF ALPHA!

All these things that you guys are using to knock the game, how many of you actually took the time to give the dev team your feedback and recommendations on their social media, Discord, or even here in the forums? Complain all you want, but offer a solution!

IT's ALPHA!

That being said - there are posters who give good feedback and want to see the game suceeed.

I find it humorous when someone says 'this game is UNPLAYABLE and I WILL NOT BUY IT or THESE DEVS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING' - that isn't feedback - that's condensensation and beratement and ffs just rude.

If you don't like the way it is - suggest ways to fix it - no one wants to hear your 'or else' commentary regarding the wasd movement. Some people act as if they are the end all/be all of gamers and in reality should learn to wipe their own butts.

You seem to misunderstand the purpose of this. It's literally ment to generate feedback, so they can change stuff if needed. And if everyone is complaining about the same thing, it might atleast get them to reevaluate, lel.

The solution is: don't have to eat 20x times a day, if that's the problem. I found it to be alright tbh - i would imagine it would get better with better recipes. It's not amazing - it has a ton of problems that people are rightly adressing and THANK GOD they are doing a pre alpha early release to get feedback before the game gets tanked in an EA.

I totally agree, however, there is a way of saying "im not playing a game you have to eat 20x a day" or hey guys, seems that food consumption seems a bit high at the moment.

There is a way to complain and say the game sucks, but what you are saying the same thing I am, there is a way to complain in a constructive feedback kind of way vs coming in here and claiming you're not going to play the game because you have to eat too much in a day.

Alpha is for feedback, suggestions, bug finding and overall testing. I totally agree and I do understand how it works. There is a right and wrong way to do though.

It's called constructive criticism. That's basically pointing out the good and the bad in a friendly manner. Constructive criticism can also include ideas how to make things better, in a friendly manner. I would like to say, BRAVO for telling people this is Alpha. No developer says that and people come to their own conclusions about a game on Steam because it's on Steam.

I think the devs are doing something right, not proclaiming it early access, but specifically putting alpha in the title and having an open, free, alpha test period. No cash involved. More devs should do this. It's like playing an unfinished demo, and I've already wishlisted this based on my short alpha gameplay and the fact that the devs are doing it right

I think it's got a lot of potential, as do many other people who are taking time to post, but I've also provided numerous points that need to be addressed. Near constant eating being one, for sure. In the game I was playing my character ate 3 bowls of soup and minutes later was back to half starved. I'm a big guy but if I downed an entire waterskin (water can?) full of water and three bowls of soup I wouldn't want anything for at least a few hours. :)

Absolutely, but some people are bad at giving constructive feedback and some people on the internet only know how to complain, whine, gripe, be angry about everything, and whinge.

I bet you're gonna be one of those people that will pre-order the game on day one and when it fails miserably, you will keep screeching "It's Alpha... It's Beta... It's Early Access" while desperately trying to convince yourself you haven't wasted your money on a dud game.

Go search up some of my comments on Population Zero and come back and edit this will ya ? LOL ! My posts shouldn't be hard to find, my name is the one with the BANNED next to it. Seems some game development teams can't handle the truth of what a giant piece of crap their game is. After alpha, beta, pre-order, early access and commanders pack purchases and 2 years worth of involvement in the game. Trust me, if a game is crap and shouldn't be purchased I say it like it is.

Gatewalkers and the development team is nothing like some of the other games I have tested. Gatewalkers has the potential to be amazing. However, its ALPHA, some things might not be 100% right now and there is a way to provide feedback, and there is a way to be total ♥♥♥♥!

Feedback is feedback. You are not the gatekeeper of what makes feedback valid or acceptable.

This thread indicates you don't understand that.

I think some people just need to realize that this is not this game or that game. If you like Survivals, but don't like RPGs, don't play it. If you like RPGs, but don't like Survival mechanics, don't play it. If the game is not for you, DON'T PLAY IT! Certainly don't go around bashing a game that 1) Is in Alpha stage 2) Not a game for you 3) Isn't tailored EXACTLY to your specific needs in a video game, that are apparently required in order for you to be able to continue your existence in this world. :steamfacepalm:
