You need to click & drag across every letter of the word you want to make.

Its extremely awkward and I hope the developers change it to something more intuitive before the final release.

Actually, it makes sense to do it like that on a phone or tablet, but not on a desktop computer. Or maybe I'm just getting old.

It would very much help, though, if the game had a little tutorial explaining that you need to form a coherent line of all letters with your finger/mouse. (hint @developer)

I agree! I was clicking on each letter and nothing was working. I had to search for this comment to figure out how to play the game on a laptop with a mouse. Thank you!

I am clicking on letters, trying to drag them, doing everything I can with a mouse and the game will not do anything. If I slide the mouse over several letters, they will light up, but only as long as I hold the mouse key down and hover over them. Are the letters supposed to go into the empty boxes at the bottom of the screen? Are they supposed to stay lit? How do you know when it 'counts' a word? The complete and total lack of any kind of instructions on how to play this game makes me think I wasted my money.

It is annoying, yes. But the trick is that you drag across the letters that make up the word, and once you have the full word let go of the mouse button... and then the letters will fly off to the boxes at the bottom. The developers have made it so that only the words they've chosen will actually work, and the categories do help. It's possible to make your words in ways that block later words from being linked, so be aware also of the reset level button at the lower left.

Understand those obscure instructions, however it is VERY awkward when trying to drag letters near the middle of the array while avoiding unintended letters out of order

It's practically impossible to play this Wordle using PC/mouse/keyboard. The letters cannot be easily selected or set etc. Are the devs serious? Why are so many gamers not complaining about this?
