Yes, I think every Unreal fan is waiting for Unreal 3. But we are waisting our time. I doubt, it will ever happen.

I never understood why the did not bring out a 3, granted the tournaments made a lot of money, however the story games (unreal 1 and 2) did make a profit. Also a lot of people like to play an actual story rather than just a full out multiplayer shooter.

I know they are apparently working on another tournament. Lets hope they make another unreal. then again I know some people always thought the games were more like tech demo's for the engines to help sell them, and now the engine sells regardless...

That is not a reason they could not bring out another story based game. Especially given all the years in between games etc. Regardless its still a shame.

There is a much higher chance of Half-Life 3 happening than an Unreal 3.

And who's gonna make that game? Epic? The same Epic that literally erased the whole franchise from existence because they want nothing to do with it anymore? They most likely ain't gonna sell the IP either. Unreal is literally dead and burried, just press F.

Here is what I think: After the great success with the original Unreal and Unreal Tournament, Epic Games got greedy. They became capitalists. It was all about money. But they tried some new things with Unreal 2. They introduced the dialog system, which is probably the first time it was introduced in a 1st person shooter. At the time, I think only RPG's had a dialog system. You are welcome to prove me wrong. And they upgraded the engine with quantum leaps. It was beatiful to watch.

But I don't consider Unreal 2 as a bad game. Yes, the story is short, compared to the first game, but I like the variety of the environments and the missions. Again, it's a matter of taste. What do we really want of Unreal 3, the SP game ??

Maybe when Fortnite dies eventually

What happens if remedy developed Unreal 3 with epic games, giving a story telling of a new skaarj war in third person or First person, that would be pretty cool and funny to see, two video game giants putting together a Unreal experience for not just classic epic games fans but also for Remedy story telling fans of games like Control or Max Payne

(epic necro) there is an actual unreal 3 SP website ? not sure where i'd look, UT tournament 3 comes up instead. I never liked the multiplayer series much, yet things continued down on that path since then.

There is one more game i wait for and that is hexen 3. Managed to catch a live stream of raven software last year, and one of them read out my "hexen 3 when?" line and thought it was funny xD
