Is there any way to look down?
Holding S doesn't work and it's a bad idea to jump off a ledge without knowing that there's ground underneath, but you have to do that once in the tutorial

100% agree... holding down to look down is a platformer staple. no reason not to have that feature

On controller the right-stick lets you look around. Not sure about mouse+keyboard though.
