How big of a deal is the mapping issue?
I often find I get easily lost in games without maps. (I basically couldn't drive before GPS became widespread. I just can't navigate well that way.)

I've heard there's only a "world map" and no are maps. How useful is the world map for picking out landmarks / figuring out where you are? Or is it really not much better than no map at all?

The world map only gives you a really rough idea where you are. On the plus side, the game isn't that vast and sprawling that you'd get easily lost. It's quite doable.

I was ready to buy this game after the demo, except it has no map. Horrible decision to not have that in the game.

I'm 2 hours in and already wandering around through areas I've already explored wondering what I've missed.. in a metroidvania the map is how we know we've seen everything, so if you're interested in getting 100% its gonna be really frustrating with this tease of a map. its like having a map of the country when you're trying to navigate within a city... it'll tell you what you already know but it won't help you get where you're trying to go.

I really like the gameplay and the multi-character aspects but I think I might drop this one due to the frustrating exploration.
