It's been half a year since Assembly Planter has been released. A good time for some polishing.

Here's a complete list of all the changes:

Splitters are now actually useful. You can right-click them to change their shape. This way they are an actual alternative to multisplitters and crafting tons of glass early on is no longer a necessity.


Early game changes:

• The hoe now gives more dirt.
  
• Blade upgrades are available earlier.
  
• Automation is now unlocked gradually over several levels.
  
• The first 7 levels are now unlocked automatically and the orb of wisdom is unlocked at level 8.
  
• The manual pages are now unlocked based on level so you can only see the things that are already unlocked.
  
• The tutorial can now be skipped.

Added the trading station that allows you to trade requested shrinker machines for time machines.

Machines drop their resources when they are hammered and the cost of shrinker machines contains the base resources rather than the components. There's an option to revert this change.
Pressing shift while using the hammer now gives back the machine itself instead of the resources.

The stack size limit is now 1 Quintillion.
Added short number notation for item numbers.
Added shiny crates which allow you to use the entire stack of crates with a single click.


Various small improvements:

• Craft time of machines set to 0.2s from 1s.
  
• Limited the maximum number of crafts that can be queued per table to 50.
  
• Transmutations are now stronger and there are a few more of them.
  
• Clicking a machine with a resource or seed in your hand now puts it into the machine.
  
• Added search function for crafting tables.
  
• If the first item of the output of a shrinker machine is biomass or dirt it now shows the second item instead in the custom crafting table.
  
• Added direct input for the input number in the shrinker.
  
• The input numbers are now saved.
  
• Changed the hotbar scrolling direction.
  
• Added slight camera lag.
  
• Item displays in crafting tooltips and the shrinker display are now smaller and scale similar to the hotbar.

The game was looking kinda ugly so I decided to improve the visuals a bit.

The biggest visual change is the tall 3D grass that has been spread outside the building area to cover up the ugly repeating grass texture.

Some players had issues with the bright flickering colors of the conveyor belts. I didn't want to remove the bright colors because the game looks boring without them. Instead I tried to reduce the flickering by straightening and connecting the conveyor belts. I also increased the size of the orange stripes and the distance between them to make it look less noisy.

Another frequent complaint was that you couldn't zoom out more. Now you can!
Instead of switching between 4 given perspectives the camera can now zoom in and out using shift + mouse wheel.

-Fixed a bug that allowed you to duplicate items by putting them in machines in the shrinker and then cloning them.

-The collapse button for the tutorial box now rotates when you click it.
-Removed the "next page button" on the last page and the "previous page button" on the first page of the manual.

This is the first big update of Assembly Planter. I tried to fix all the things players seemed to dislike most about the launch version of the game.

Old Saves
The update changes big parts of how you progress through the game and it also changes how crafts are saved. This causes saves from before the patch to partially break. You can still use them but all your
crafters will break and you will likely be at an unintended point of progression. I highly recommend starting a new game.

New Progression System
The new progression system gradually unlocks things as you progress through the game. This is done through a leveling system that unlocks new content and directly explains what the new items are used for. Leveling up always costs certain resources.

New Sieves
Sieves were the cause of a lot of early game confusion because it was hard to know what they produced and what they needed to produce it. Many had also missed the fact that every sieve produced different seeds and you had to keep the old sieves.
Now sieves are direct upgrades of each other and they allow you to choose what seeds you wan't them to produce. Higher tier sieves just have more seeds to choose from. Most seeds are now produced from a single piece of dirt so you no longer have to put exactly 5 dirt into the sieve for it to work.

Clone Machines
One very convenient new feature is the new clone button. It allows you to instantly rebuild a machine in the shrinker by pressing a button.

Test Shrinker Setups
What confused players most about the shrinker was the fact that it doesn't run continuously like the simulated machines. In this patch I tried to make the whole shrinker process more intuitive and hopefully less confusing.
Pullers no longer pull every second when you place them in the shrinker. Instead they only spit their items out once when you click the new "Test" button. This allows you to directly see what the machines do with the items. It also removes most differences between the calculated and the simulated machine.

All Changes
