Also, REMOVE THE SHUFFLE BUTTON. I just lost 10 minutes of edge piece seperation because I thought hey, maybe this button shows the picture! Nope...it takes all my f--king work and throws it in the trash - and overlaps all the pieces again.
Namely here (this as far as I checked) and the only one where it's really noticeable so far
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2106900513
first a typo
...währen dich... -> ...während ich...
and this one is a bit more complicated
habe ich auch nicht nie jemanden ankommen sehen
because in German, twice a no means yes, so this sentence is confusing to say the least. Variations possible
habe ich auch nie jemanden ankommen sehen.... (this is formal language, if you want this to be someone speaking to us, it should be "habe ich auch nie jemand ankommen sehen"
Thank you for your feedback! Adding a rollover text on buttons is one of the improvment task in the pipe, it should remove any missunderstanding of what buttons do.
Regarding the pile, it would be complicate (or a total different system) to have all the pieces next to each other (especially in big puzzles). I know that other system exists but they have their own bad sides too...
Thank you very much!
I will correct the german translation and changes will be available in the upcoming update.
So it is possible to make a save point and continue where you have left the game?
Hello Lin,
Sorry if it's not clear in the game maybe I should add it as a tips during loading and in the game page description on Steam: Save is activated at any time, every time you move, combine or well place a piece, it is save in the puzzle and it's made for all puzzles in all modes (free/challenge/special).
I'm happy that you enjoyed the game and completed it in full !
Thank you for your kind review, it means a lot :)
Just pushed a new update, it includes the fix for the two mistakes you found. Thank you for your help :)
That's great! I didn't know and didn't want to loose progress by trying it out, haha. Also thanks for the quick response! Please carry on with the great job you are doing!
No need for thanks ;) I enjoy helping Indy devs like yourself when possible, especially in these trying times.
I have removed my screenshot, since it paints now a wrong picture (very literally) of that screen and I found myself the only screenshot in the feed (which paints an even more wrong picture now that it is in nice German ^^) ;) Wish you best of luck with this game, however niche it might be. ^^
Just came here to say the same thing. Please AT LEAST label this button asap, because it gets so frustrating when it happens after a lot of sorting was done.
Also, I'm a little confused how the "click box" for pieces work. It seems to be random for each pieces and sometimes it's not even on the piece itself but somewhere around it? Like for some piece it took me a good 4 or 5 times to be able to pick that specific piece even tho i was clicking on it, it was picking other pieces around or under, but not the one i was clicking on.
I don't mind that they're all piled up at the beginning but however your click box works, it should prioritize the ones the player sees on top.
Would it also be possible to add an option to have a solid colored background instead of the small part of the image itself? The way it's done now is very beautiful (and your art is really great by the way) but it's straining for the eye. I'd greatly appreciate if I could have the option to just pick a color to see the pieces better.
We will do it for sure and very soon!
Is this problem specific to a puzzle size or shape? I will check if there is not an issue with the Z-order of pieces, the piece above should normally mask the others and not make them clickable.
Yes, it's a customisation feature we are working on and which will be added to all MJA episodes.
I understand, thank you very much!
Actually i'm unsure if it's puzzle specific OR if it comes from the windowed mode. I had the problem most notably on the first story puzzle, 200 pieces, classic jigsaw shape. I was also in windowed mode at the moment.
Later I switched to non windowed and the "box lag/innacurracy" i was describing almost disappeared. That being said i've been switching around pieces shapes and puzzle sizes as I was going along in story mode to try everything the game has to offer. I can try later to check the same conditions as the first puzzle on the next one with just the fullscreen more and report if I still have the initial problem if it would help.
And thanks for all the other answers :)
One of the improvement I listed was to change the "snap" detection range (to place the piece at the good place and to connect with others) depending the size of the pieces so currently it's "harder" to connect two big pieces (28p) than two small ones (1000p). It wasn't really a problem for me to make the job a little easier for big puzzles than small ones but maybe I should do the change.
Hey Zevras,
Hey EvilBlackSheep,
Sorry if it takes very long but we just released an update (v1.1) containing the changes the most requested:
- The game now displays what buttons do, in puzzle, with a rollover text (no shuffle by mistake anymore).
- You can now change the opacity and sharpness of the picture in background (with cursors, not a checkbox)
- You can now hide the picture in background to use a plain color and you can select the exact color you want with three cursors (RGB).
All those options are saved, of course, to be kept during the complete journey :)
Don't hesitate to tell me if you like those additions :)
I've been enjoying 'A Lost Story' very much and like the additions in your v1.1 update. I've been particularly tinkering around with the RGB settings to find the most soothing colour per puzzle.
I've very nearly finished the Special levels. These puzzles are great, by the way, although I'm not sure I ever will finish them all. Alas, the timed puzzles have defeated me; I just can't do them within the allocated time and I've tried, and tried and tried! It's just me - I'm too slow in my old age! The frustration here is that I won't be able to access the hidden puzzle, so I'm wondering if timer options could be considered. These could include switching the timer off, or extending the time. If you're not planning another update for this game, then maybe this could be considered for other episodes where there are special levels (yes, please).
In the meantime I'm going to console myself by going back to the story to enjoy a nice 1,000 piece puzzle in normal mode!
All the best; you're hard work is appreciated!
Hello Laurie,
Thank you for your very kind words!
I'm glad that you like the game!
I send you a friend invitation to discuss about your problem with limited time puzzles. I may have a solution for you :)
I wish you a wonderful sunny day.
