The only vampires you can stake-kill from behind are those in a trance. If they are eating or just floating idle-like, you punch them doing barely no damage. To the cultist it seems than even a weak punch can kill them, although you will most likely alert someone nearby. Stealth is a little iffy at best.
You can a shatter every normal vampire with a punch. The special (siphon, anglers or shrouds) and sub-bosses (named vampires), you won't. The most effective way of getting rid of them is to stone them and then use stake-thrower to do a ton of damage. Even the Rook can be one-shot. If you get a basilisk sniper it's even easier.
Nests are infinite, do them or ignore them. With Jacob is easy to avoid fights and go directly to the heart.
And yes, I also dislike Jacob's ravens because of how unreliable they are. I thought it could be something related to distance or if the enemies where alerted or not. But no, is just a little buggy.
I also bought it from Fanatical and all-in-all, I'm enjoying it.
