Altered Graphics
I noticed that the games in the collection have been altered, removing 3d effects and lighting present in the original releases. This is obvious when looking at any letsplay on youtube from the time of release. To me this is a negative alteration, and I cannot find any explanation online. Would the developers please comment on this change?

The 3d- and lighting effects definitely brought some atmosphere to the early Cube Escape games. We decided to remove them because it caused some troubles running on certain devices, it made the game a lot 'heavier'. For a browser game this was ok. But because people want to play the game on desktop fullscreen, we decided to remove the effects. Also because we wanted a bit more continuity between the different Cube Escape chapters, across different platforms.

Thank you for the response. I see why you had to remove it, although I think some people might miss the 3d effects. I remember when I first disovered cube escape the 3d panning and zooming effects felt really special and made it stand out from other games. In 3d The space felt a lot larger, and more dangerous. I guess we can still go back and play the flash versions at least.
Which games exactly have had visual effects removed?

More optimal solution would've been giving the users an option — now the store page gives the impression of a feature-complete port:

Cube Escape was Rusty Lake's first series of games, introducing the Rusty Lake universe. Heavily inspired by TV series Twin Peaks. All games will be updated, preserved and bundled on Steam for a small price, to survive the end of the Flash Games era. The Cube Escape Collection will contain 9 chapters: Seasons, The Lake, Arles, Harvey's Box, Case 23, The Mill, Birthday, Theatre and The Cave.

PLEASE NOTE: These games do not contain any new content from their original versions (besides achievements, a new hint system and translations)!

You could've implemented a graphics settings menu, disabling both "3D" and "lighting" by default, without affecting the minimum system requirements. Please reconsider :blackcoffee:
