Bought PoF + HoT a while back and tried playing on a booster character, I was so lost and didn't know what to do, it didn't click so I left the game untouched for a while.

A month ago I was bored and looking for something new to play, I love RPGs and played many MMOs when I was younger so I decided to once again to give Guild Wars 2 a try with an experienced friend.

Starting a fresh character from a humble beginning feels so good as you slowly learn more about the game and the world of Guild Wars 2. You then start to play more and more different content, metas, events, and WvW (even tho I'm still so bad at it xD) and you start to realize how much cool stuffs this game has to offer.

Now I have played around 180 hours in a month and got all expansions including LW and IBS except EoD (waiting for a sale). Playing through them jumping around to get stuff I want such as Skyscale / Spear Mastery.

Also finding a guild / group to play with is absolutely amazing, elevates the experience so much and feels like you're having an adventure with your friends, a bonus if they're experienced so they can show you the ropes.

Even though I'm only mastery 70-ish right now you know I had to dabble in some of that famous Fashion Wars, I love to make cute characters.

Anyway, this long ass yapping essay is just my love letter to the game, such a beautiful amazing game with an epic and mesmerizing world to explore. Also such a GOATed community, y'all are amazing. My journey is just starting and I believe it will be an amazing one.

After 2000 hours on game, i must say, that it is a really good game, it has some cons, but much more pros.

Just try it for free and then buy DLCs, dont buy/play it on Steam, rather download the client from their website, playing it on Steam has no positives. Only good thing on Steam is counting your hours, but you can write "/age" in game, for the same purpose.

TLDR:
Good game, don't play it on Steam.

I play on the normal client, ignore playtime.
Still one of the best mmorpg out there, currently. Unfortunately no good competition is being created. Albion online if you prefer pvp focused gameplay, i guess.
GW2 also has some actual modern innovation in the industry, very nice to see. Wow has to copy stuff from GW2.

There is lots of ways to level up so you can really go into the world and explore without doing main quests. Fun for single players and for teams/guilds. If a server does not have a lot of people they give you a option to go into another one with more characters so that no matter what the world would feel full.

I'm an old player, I got the game when it first came out and I return to it time and time again. Whilst I do play on the standalone launcher, decided to get it on Steam just to write a review.
This game is amazing, I've played through the first three expansions and I am so looking forward to the last two as well.
I can not recommend it enough, fluid gameplay, fun events, expansive map and all around good times.
If you are looking for a nice time-sink, relaxed gameplay and fun times, this is definitely it.

I spent 2 hours just trying to get the game to work. I updated my drivers and updated directx many times. I guess this game only runs on older computers, which is really just a terrible way to have a game. So, sayonara, I can't be bothered to embark on a quest to Mordor to make this game work.
