It's a mount for use solely within WvW. How's this amazing?
They were obviously gonna make it obtainable in PvE, like every mount, through "mastery". So this change seems pointless.

Especially after all these years.

But hey, they're scrapin' the barrel ova here.

They unlocked the Warclaw outside of WvW for a while now.
I never noticed either untlil recently.

Yeah I've had warclaw for years now. Took maybe an hour of suffering WVW to unlock it.
And then I never use it because it's useless.

I think it's a good change because running on foot behind everyone else and getting singled out and killed by the enemy every 2 minutes was just humiliating.

I know the feeling, other mounts are just superior to it, but seeing how they intend to change the warclaw's abilities in PvE and update them with more masteries, it's still to be seen if it will remain useless in PvE or not, especially if they decide that Skyscales are disabled for the duration of the expansion

I mean, it's kinnda the same like the Raptor now
It used to be unlocked in PoF, but people these days get it automatically when they buy any expansion, so that they're not forced to jump into PoF first only to get a mount for getting around easier
Now people won't be forced to participate on foot in WvW to get a mount to use in there
The masteries and all the upgrade stuff for the mount still needs to be earned though, so I think this is quite nice

F2Ps should be able to unlock the WvW Warclaw right now, right?

Yet another sign of the down turn of GW2. ANet is pandering again with a "free" mount for pver's. Wouldn't want the little whiners to have to pony up like everyone else did. When I did map completion, i had to do go to pvp and wvw to finish it. When i wanted a warclaw, I had to go to wvw take a tower, keep, camp, sentry and spend gold to get it.

Giving warclaw is one thing but to not give a new player a permanent raptor mount or at least an avenue to earn one early in the game... There's an oxymoron in there somewhere.

And I really don't understand this mindset that you're offended because people get stuff like this unlocked.
Everything else will still have to be earned, like the abilities and masteries, they'll just get the base mount to get around easier rather than doing WvW on foot. Literally not a big deal.
And it's funny that you'd call other's "little whiners" ,but you come here whining because people will get stuff that totally doesn't even affect you at all. but mUH pIxEls

And they do get a permanent raptor mount, they literally just need to buy any expansion and they have a permanent raptor mount instantly unlocked. A new person could buy the PoF/HoT bundle for 5 bucks on sale and have the permanent raptor unlocked the first day they play the game, so you should re-think your statement, because it's not rooted in reality

Guess they did finally get around to making Warclaw a "default" mount in some way lol

I long pushed the idea that Warclaw should have been added to the Vanilla game as a sort of end game goal for people without expansions.

This isn't quite the same but none the less i'm still glad it sorta happened in a way.

Hope they give some kind of refund for those that worked for it
