Yeah they obviously have the 3rd person animations, but I assume that there logic to handle aiming or using the crosshairs would have to be reworked a bit for 3rd person at least.
So it means they have to add this to their development plans and so on.
No idea how they work all that.
But it seems like there is probably no interest in doing it which is a shame because it looks like a fun game, but the lack of 3rd person means a fair number of people cannot play it.
Quite likely true!
At a guess, the lack might be related to the fact that it is a very small team of developers who work on this game, it's possible that they don't have the skills and/or the time required to add such a thing to the game - especially at this point I suspect it would take a boatload of work, which would take hours and more away from the projects they are already working on.
Maybe one day they will get popular enough to be able to afford to hire somebody who can do that for the game? It would be a nice addition for a variety of reasons...
And yes, I know it's possible to view your character in third person while it's performing emotes or after you change your spacesuit, but there's apparently a big difference in viewing the character in 3rd-person in a static position and coding that same character to be fully controllable and mobile in 3rd-person PoV.
Does this mean TPC will never get a 3rd-person PoV?
No, but it's up to the folks at MijuGames to decide how complicated such an addition to their game will be to work on and whether or not they can comfortably fit what apparently amounts to a mini-project in its own right into their development timeline.
