Will the New DLC be Worth Buying?
I love Planet Crafter -Was not a fan of Humble and the Moons really was
just the same thing Terr form, I think for this new DLC we need something
more than just Terraforming again.

As I stated in my Ideas thread here-> but no Dev's responded.

QOL update Ideas for Dev's
So I have played Planet Crafter from the demo release and I was thinking maybe
we could have something to work for besides Terra forming over and over, May
be we could have the task to discover ancient technology parts that when
combined together would allow us to recreate a Asteroid Planetary Defence Shield
at the point we no longer need the elements they deposit as we already are mining
them our selves.

Maybe we could have actual Deposits like in Satisfactory instead of just putting an
ore-miner just on the ground.

Also other New Tech such as a Skiff Bike like in Star Wars with storage that would
be way better than the Vehicle we have now.

Maybe we could have a new terrain manipulator tool so we could remove unwanted
rock formations that block access to building in that spot.

Just a couple of Ideas to keep the interest in the game for long time players
other than just Terra-forming over and over.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We need something completely new to do in the game as for me the
Terraforming has become a bit boring when you have done it on 2
planets & two moons. Please Dev's add something we can at least feel like
we are getting something new worth while spending on a new DLC.

Not sure what this would change. Certain areas of the map are marked for certain ores so we already have to put the miners in those specific areas to get them. Applying that to all of them doesn't expand the concept much.

Well leaving that point aside there is more needed for the DLC than Terraforming
over and over.

unfortunately thats what makes planet crafter what it is, i cant see the new dlc being anything different, it will be a new planet the same sort of thing as before with some new gimmick like humble had, which for humble was the ore crushers, but ultimately i would be massively surprised if it isnt just a new planet with the same tier 1 heaters and miners and oxygen things working up to tier 5 and getting insects and so on, if they was to change the direction of the game they could just make planet crafter 2 or a new game totally

That is what this game is all about, and it's precisely what I love best about it. Transforming each planet is quite a different experience from any of the others, so I have no clue why you are going on about 'doing the same thing over and over'. I suspect the problem may be in your same-ole approach to the gameplay, not the actual game itself...
Heh. I was in a Q&A panel with the late Peter David once, and he talked about attending a meeting with MTV execs back in the 90s about bringing a Spider-Man cartoon to MTV. He says one of the execs asked "Does it HAVE to be a spider? Spiders are icky!"

Reminds me of this post. Yes, it has to be a spider. He's not 'Spider-man' if it's not a spider. Yes, it's gonna be about Terraforming. It wouldn't be Planet Crafter without it.

That's your opinion, as I already stated I like PC very much I was just hoping they
might consider a different way for the New DLC. And as for
your same-ole approach to the gameplay, not the actual game itself...

There is no need for the verbal slant, I asked the Dev's not you to respond so
please refrain from jibes at anyone as it just shows your poor attitude.

Glad you're enjoying the game :)

There are all kinds of possibilities the devteam have open to them for the new DLC; all we, as the playerbase, can presume with any certainty at this point is:

1: that the basic gameplay on the new world(s) will very likely revolve around the terraformation process - whether that terraformation process uses the same stages as Prime/Humble, or it involves a more custom and unique set of stages like Selenea and Aqualis both do.

2: that, just as with Humble/Selenea/Aqualis, there'll likely be some new gameplay mechanic(s), and/or storyline, and/or new terrain features, and/or new devices/buildings/animals/etc. for us to get to grips with on the new world(s) - e.g. the seismic feature on Aqualis isn't something that just gets added into a game out of the blue for no reason - it's clearly a test of new functionality, so perhaps we'll see other novel 'features' like that on the new world(s).

Beyond that though, and until the devs release their announcement post and video trailer ahead of the new DLC's actual release date, anything else we in the community come up with on this forum, or on the official discord channel, is simply a heady mix of pure speculation and our personal hopes and wishes for this game.

I would absolutely agree with you that the reply you responded to could have been worded a bit more... diplomatically... to be honest; but this doesn't change the fact that Robirda's observations that the game is based around 'terraformation', that the terraformation process is what keeps 'most' of this community engaged with the game, and that each world does the terraformation thing in its own way, are all pretty accurate and reasonable points.

Also, on this discussion board you're definitely gonna get responses from the community to your posts way more often than you're ever likely to see any kind of a personal response from anyone on the dev team, simply because the devteam are presumably all very busy working on the game, while we in the community have the time to read and respond to each others posts and have these interesting conversations.

This isn't to say that the devteam aren't watching this discussion board and taking note of all of the comments and suggestions we post here, they certainly are; but if you're looking for a better chance of getting a reply straight from someone on the devteam rather than from anyone in the community, all I can suggest is to try jumping on the official Discord channel - I believe the details are listed in one of the pinned threads on this board.

Hi, thank you for your explanation and I do understand that I can not expect
a personal reply from Dev's when I post a thread I just was posting on the off
chance at some point down the line they find time to read.

I know some people will reply in a distasteful manor sometimes but I will
still hold them to account for it and not just take it without saying anything
in return.

Thank you for your time you put into your explanation that is more what
I would expect.

Flint is pretty darn awesome, alright, and much better than me at putting things properly - I have a tendency to sometimes be - let's just say, on the blunt side. I don't beat about the bush.

But I don't change my tune, either, and, let's be honest, you flat-out complained that you hadn't had a response from the devs about a previous post of yours... and then you told me that you'd asked the devs to respond, not me... so, you need to make up your mind, yes?

Lastly - my 'jibe' wasn't meant personally, but was rather an observation that your complaint about having to repeat the same thing over and over could well be caused by the fact that you might be tending to approach everything in the same way... otherwise you wouldn't have that as a complaint.

However, I apologize if you felt insulted, that was not intended - no, I was just trying to get you to see past the limits you seem to have self-imposed on my favourite game. Sorry if it came off otherwise...

(by the by, a 'manor' is a fancy house - I think you meant, 'manner'?)

I agree I did say I Qote> As I stated in my Ideas thread here-> but no Dev's responded.

So I accept that I did not mean it as I expected them to but just as a notice
that not knowing if they read the thread or not.

Well from my point a view I will just in future ignore your comments as
you obviously seen to enjoy either taking jibes at your pleasure or pointing
out a simple grammar spelling mistake to make you look more intelligent
than myself for a simple error in spelling, I don't wish to upset you anymore
as you are obviously already on the edge.

For me I will continue to post a thread, and request that you are not in anyway
obliged to reply.... try a holiday to cool down it might help but doubt it.

Hop my spelling meets with your approval if not TOUGH.
Robirda 9 Aug @ 7:21am
From my house to your house - or manor to manor if you like - thank you for your honesty. Too often the real issue is not spelling, but accurate communication - English does not make it easy, bad spelling can quickly make it worse, plus, it's difficult to tell emotions on a message board, and it is far too easy to read unintended things into unclear posts - that's where experiences like this come in handy.

You are right, I have been under a lot of pressure lately - 70 years of hard living can do that - but I do believe you also could stand to take a step back every now and again too... you managed to read animosity where none was intended.

I did apologize for that, but I can't change how you perceive things - that's on you - but hopefully we can at least agree to disagree on some things, and understand that we both love the game and want to see it continue on into the future.

Take care, and, never stop learning, eh? It's the best way to exercise the brain muscle! :-)
Agreed...

i personally support a tool to remove stupid rock formations
we are called "planet crafter" for a reason
Robirda 9 Aug @ 5:48pm
....except then we'd be liable to wind up with holes in the ground... urgh! (would lend a whole new meaning to the phrase "oopsie slippsies" though, lol - and a whole new way to fall through the world! ;-P )
