Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Resolution fix doesn't work.
The crack/tweaked exe file that's supposed to fix the resolution doesn't seem to do anything for me.

The game won't even start after swapping out the exes and tweaking the xml file just stretches the screen to the resolution you want but it's blurry as hell.

Thanks for the help.

For those with the same issues and If none of the fixes work for you too. Changing the xml file for the resolution you want doesn't force that resolution it only stretches it, but if you set the options to windowed mode then set the resolution it works. I then use borderless gaming to force fullscreen mode, looks much better.

resolution width="1680" height="1050" aspect="1.600000" fullscreen="true" vsync="0" put this line into My document\mygames\OFDR\hrdware setting xml filke using note pad, save and set the file as read only and don't touch anything else in graphic setting and you are good to go...

@indio68 - just wanted to send a HUGE thanks for posting this. It works beautifully. And no alternate .exe file needed.

For those that want to try this, here are the steps:

1. fire up OFP as is. Go to options. Set it for "Windowed" instead of full screen.

Do this as a first step because you will shortly be making a file "read only" and if you haven't set this already you won't be able to.

Note You may be able to change this direct in teh file below. I did not try it. This would eliminate step 1. But since step 1 is one time deal, who cares.

2. Now, for me on Windows 10, I went to:

C:\Users\Rick\Documents\My Games\OFDR\hardwaresettings

... you obviously won't have "rick" in yours!

3. Edit hardware_settings_config.xml in notepad

4. You will see a line that looks like:

<resolution width="1280" height="960" aspect="1.3333 fullscreen="false" vsync="0" oldWidth="800" oldHeight="600">

5. Change the first three parameters to what your system is. For example, my resolution is

width="2560" height="1440". The aspect is simply width/height. In my case 1.777777. So my new line in teh file is:

<resolution width="2560" height="1440" aspect="1.777777" fullscreen="false" vsync="0" oldWidth="800" oldHeight="600">

6. Save the file over the old one. Now, make the file READ ONLY by right mouse clicking on the file name, check the read only box, then OK.

7. NOw, when you fire up teh game it will immediately be in the new resolution, but may not visually fill up teh screemn. Hit ALT-ENTER and it will.

8. NOTE: the game will be in the new resolution, but if you go to options in the game it won't show the resolution. Who cares. just go play the game!

Thanks for this worked perfectly. Forgot to change fullscreen="false" as well. Once I did that, it worked.
