For Spongebob fans, this game is MUST HAVE

If not, not so much

Game visuals is pleasing to eye, you can call it "jelly like" it really suits the story and overall vibe of the game.

Story makes you feel like you are in spongebob episode, which is again, great for the fans, and not if you are just a commoner.

Gameplay is easy as hell, you can chill and eat chips at the same time while playing this game. But also it is really (and i mean REALLY) ♥♥♥♥*ing buggy. Even tho im a fan, and i had a blast playing this game, there was just too many bugs, not worth for a full price, wait for discount

Really lovely game if you're a Spongebob fan : ) Pretty easy apart from a couple of challenging awards and some physics jank. I recommend playing through normally and then getting collectables after you finish the main story. Lovely graphics, voice acting and mostly smooth game play. Story was OK; some jokes were funny. I like that they reference both new and old episodes as a fan of both. So yeah, get it on a discount if you like Spongebob and want a comfy game! I haven't played BFBB yet but plan to at some point.

If you like Spongebob, you will like this, so many Spongebob references from the movies. I've played until stage 1, the story and gameplay is good so far.

Unfortunately, the game is not recommendable from my point of view, as it feels like a loveless clone of Battle for Bikinibottom. The plot is so-so (well it was no different with the other Spongebob games), the scenes are edited sloppily together, the sound is choppy, the combat has been simplified.

It's a real shame because I was really looking forward to the game. The graphics, the many references to old episodes and the trust I had in the developers not to mess it up, but ....

What a fun game! Only took about 12 hours to 100% so it was a really easy game but a worthy and creative successor to BFBB. Great dialogue, costumes, and worlds. Can't wait to see what this studio does next.!

Great platformer for kids and is pretty much a continuation of Battle of Bikini Bottom.

A great game to take a break from all the seriousness of other games. Its childish, its colorful, its fun.

*But only if you really like (and I mean like currently, not just have nostalgia for) Spongebob

It is to me far better then Battle for bikini bottom, it plays better, the humour is better and more in line with spongebob and is jam packed with references to the show many older ones included.

That said I feel each world overstays its its welcome with section after section of the same mechanic. The controls are pretty responsive, although I find the homing mechanic to be random in when and what it works on often going for things further away then the thing I want to target, which I mean come on devs, sonic adventure had that down at least in the early 2000's.

Runs great on Steam deck, no issues with visuals lag or controls.

If you really like Spongebob and want a platformer then yes, if you just want a platformer then probably look elsewhere, I'm struggling to finish this one, it gets very samey, flat and a bit boring.
