I can't vouch for 2nd but 1st and 3rd DLC are great.
You can find out for yourself by joining other players DLC matches where you'll also be able to collect loot but not use it until you buy the DLC
- The dark Horizon has the best final boss/fight and good exploration.
- The awakened King has the best zone ( the DLC I liked the most ).
- The forgotten Kingdom is "fine".
New archetypes/weapons/items are cool ( The warden has some technical issues due to the drone, which tends to stay between you and the enemies, making hard to aim ).
They do not change the gameplay loop but rather expand each world. Each of them adds new dungeons, new loot (mostly accessories), new monsters, a new class and a new world story that includes a world boss (ie a big completely unique fight). Think of them as a new campaign for a single world.
My suggestion would be to beat the campaign once and then consider buying the DLCs.
If you like the base game, you'll like the DLCs.
If you don't like the base game, you won't like the DLCs.
Quality wise I think the DLCs are more or less on par with the base game.
DLC is like 2h each so its not much content tbh
