if that fails try running steam as admin befor launching. to do this simply close steam full with the top tight option in steam called exit steam. then right click the icon on your pc in your taskbar or desktop and select run as admin.

it didn't work....

are you on windows 11? some pc configuration for some reason have problems with overlord i can only assume its a permissions issue. the game worked fine for me last time i played

I am on windows 10 home. not sure what the problem is...

I reinstalled my AMD drivers, reinstalled the C++ thing.

in discussions look for my post i had a fix for this a few years ago as i had the same issue

If you are getting this error this is how i fixed mine.
Even though i have a AMD card i had to down load the latest NVIDIA Physic drivers. Yes you heard that right. Then you have to go into the Game .exe and click on Compatibility and choose to run the program on windows xp service pack 2. This fixed it for me so i hope this helps you all out. Happy overlording.
