It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that the scheduled update for Esports Godfather, originally planned for September, will not be released on time. The update has been delayed.

We initially planned to release this update before the National Day holiday, so you coaches could enjoy the new content during the break. However, 1000water, our dear (annoying!) brother, originally promised to develop three new systems, but somehow it turned into seven systems! Even after disciplining 1000water, we have to face the reality—there’s no way we can complete it this month.

On the other hand, since the launch of Esports Godfather, our studio team has been working tirelessly, and everyone is physically and mentally exhausted without any time off. One member even had to postpone his wedding. This time, the team really needs to take a break during the holiday. Therefore, we won’t be able to provide timely maintenance during the National Day holiday, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience!

That being said, once the holiday is over, we promise to return with renewed energy and push forward with the update development. Our first priority will be releasing a major overhaul of the AI decision-making system. Additionally, to ensure the best experience for you coaches in the official version, we will not directly update the official version of Esports Godfather. Instead, we’ll launch the relevant tests in the beta branch of the game first. *Given the large scope of this update, we anticipate a 1-2 month beta testing period.*

We deeply apologize for the delay and understand that this may disappoint many of you who have been eagerly waiting for the update. However, after the holiday, we will work diligently to bring the overhaul to you as soon as possible. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support.

Thank you for your continued support. The reason for the lack of updates recently is due to our ongoing content overhaul, which involves numerous changes to the current version. Our team is limited in size, so we have had to prioritize the overhaul content. We appreciate your understanding.


The specific release date for the overhaul is expected to be late September at the earliest. We plan to launch a beta public test, which will be followed by a full release after a period of testing. For the old version of the game, we will use Steam's functionality to allow players to switch to the current version through the beta testing option.


This overhaul is divided into two main parts: **Match Battles** and **Club Development**.




In the Match Battles section, we’ve developed a new card-playing AI.


Many coaches have mentioned that the existing AI doesn't provide enough of a challenge, so we've decided to redesign the AI from the ground up. We've deepened the AI's card-playing strategies and optimized the program to handle more complex calculations. After nearly two months of work, we've completed the AI design, rebuilt the framework, and are on track to finish all feature implementations by September.


In the new card-playing AI:


- AI players will use more complex strategy combinations when playing cards.
- AI players will perform more detailed analyses of expected battle scenarios, avoiding reckless moves like underestimating their opponents.
- AI players will play cards more economically, achieving goals with minimal tactical point consumption.
- The card-playing AI will experience reduced lag during card play.




On the other hand, many coaches have expressed that the Club Development aspect lacks role-playing elements and that their involvement as a coach feels limited.So, we’ve added a lot of new gameplay elements to the club management section, including a new club event system, a player potential system, and a venue construction system, among others.For more details, please click here.

Another month has flown by, and the July updates for "Esports Godfather" have been compiled. Below is a summary of this month's updates:



Perhaps the difficulty of the initial stages was too low? Or maybe you want to achieve certain achievements? Now, coaches can choose to skip Internet café matches when starting a new game. After selecting this option, coaches can skip these matches and begin their new journey directly from the amateur league.

To assist coaches in better utilizing mods from the workshop, we've added an in-game MOD manager and display for MOD initialization failures.



Recognizing that not all coaches are familiar with the game rules of "Esports Godfather," both experienced champions and new coaches can now refer to the rulebook when selecting players.



Surprisingly, this feature was not available before.



Many coaches have expressed concerns about "fake matches" in BO3 or BO5 series where a team clearly leads but continues to play for player experience. To address this, we've added a new hidden inherent medal— "Early Finish." Now, coaches can confidently sweep opponents.

- Medal: Early Finish: When winning a series with 1/2 games left unplayed, gain 200%/300% ability experience, fan base growth, and hero proficiency experience.



Coaches may have noticed that this month's updates are fewer compared to last month. This is mainly because our studio's focus has been on a major update planned for the future. Therefore, the update frequency will slow down temporarily, and we appreciate your patience. I will now reveal some details about future updates here. Your players will no longer be mere rookies. Each player will have their own potential values. As a coach, you need to unearth their potential, help them find their style, and dazzle in competitions!


Your players have finally realized they have professional aspirations too! When signing players, you'll need to meet not only their signing fees and salaries but also their player demands. After all, not everyone can afford to pay the penalty!


How can you pay your players without income? You need to build your own competition venue to attract fans and sell tickets. Build better venues based on blueprints, attract more fans, and sign more players!


In the player retirement system, your players will have their own professional lives. Even the greatest players will retire one day. As a coach, you should not only focus on the current performance of the club but also its future.


No matter how outstanding a player is, they will eventually retire. As a club coach, you need to plan ahead. The scout system helps you discover potential stars! Based on your requirements, your scout will bring you new trainees or rookies at regular intervals. Unearth their potential and inject new blood into your club!


Players are not emotionless competition machines. Each player will have their own emotions and personalities. While their performance in matches is important, you also need to consider their mental health.
