The game is fairly set on what pace it wants you to play each campaign mission at. It just doesn't let you sit and enjoy building up a grand castle to then do the missions your way. The easiest difficulty level still pushes you through every mission at a rate of knot. And, if you do go against the curve, enjoy being sodomised by high-tier units in droves.

I do appreciate the direction the devs wanted to take this game in, but half the time you're forcibly focused on cheese strats and zerg rushes to objectives.

Great style, runs well, just no time to truly enjoy the experience. Just needs to cool off on attack intervals/wave density for the more casual difficulty.

I consider myself a pretty veteran RTS player. This game is hard. Even the easiest difficulty is stupid at times. However, no matter how much I want to walk away from it, I can't put it down. This game is really loads of fun. I've had it since early access and I'm glad the devs did not rush their way through the game. My only complaint right now is that there is no Multiplayer or skirmish modes. This game would be perfect if I could team up with the boys against the hordes. Devs, just saying. I can't be the only one who feels this way.

Absolute stunning game. Well optimised for big waves (works great on my potato pc). This might be the best base builder/defence game out there. Try this game, it's very reasonably priced, great campaigns, you'll love it.
