There's a lack of specification because it says they are both for beginner to novices. Is GNU Go slightly more challenging?

Seeing the discussion about pleasant board looks, I think the board can look pretty pleasant already, giving the various looks/themes. As a beginner who still is too weak for online play it might be interesting to start a campaign with a random AI opponent. That is instead of choosing between GnuGo, KataGo, Hybrid and maybe even Casual one chooses Random, which results in a different AI being chosen for different AI games (maybe even map each AI to nation colors(?)).
