Forced notes are notes that you HAVE to strum or hammer-on. When charting songs, depending on patterns that you're making, notes will automatically turn into a strum note or a hammer-on note. It's up to the charter to either force those particular notes to be either one or the other.

When it comes to current versions of Clone Hero and the last GH games, tap notes and open notes can also be forced to be those particular notes as well. That's basically it
