Personally, I think it’s perfect for a NES Castlevania style game. Quite a bit easier than those games, though.

Haven't tried this yet, but I need to hear from the REAL MVPs who even have a CONCEPT of what a non-"indie," non- "Shovel Knight," ACTUAL NES game literally even is and is like... I beat BS:CotM1 on "whatever 'Normal' was called" only getting a single (bad?) ending for Zangetsu. Achievement is displayed up top on my profile. I loved the first one, 100%'d it in a couple of days, but this game, despite some of the cool things it does, is just too frustrating to play! It really does feel like specific levels are built around specific characters, and some of the moving platform sections are a huge exercise in frustration (Worst clocktower segment of any castlevania game I've ever played, classicvania and precision platforming SUCK) Combine that with some truly frustrating bosses (the pharoah in episode 2, Gremorie's weird angled f...

I just thought that CIII had better level design. Does COTM 2 improve this at all?

Just played the demo of Darkest Abyss, its done in the same style. Not out yet but the demo shows it has potential and something to look out for. Came across it by chance and there aren't a ton of games like this so I thought I'd put this here.
