Still better than 2024

The game files that are downloaded from Steam would fit on a floppy disk. But then it forces you to open and keep it running so you can download the massive game files through M$ that are over 100 GB. In the process, your 2 hour window for Steam refunds will elapse. Subtract about 10 hours from my real playtime for being forced to leave it up overnight.

If you want this game you better commit to it before purchase, and as such I will not recommend it for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It's pretty, though.

Install takes 3 freaking hours. They limit your download to 150 MBit when u need to download 300 GB. It also counts as playtime so you cant refund. Clever.

I’m a licensed pilot (PP, CPL, and agricultural) since 2008, with over 10,000 flight hours. When I tested MSFS 2020, I was impressed by its realism and training potential, despite some limitations based on user hardware. The simulator is excellent and proves valuable for both entertainment and skill development. I can confidently say that any aircraft I’ve become familiar with in the sim, I could fly safely in real life. I highly recommend it—though it does have a few bugs, like the runway in Dubai, where I performed flawless landings that were incorrectly marked as failed, resulting in scores lower than they should’ve been.

Of course, this doesn’t replace real flight experience, but I believe the day will come when you can go straight from a simulator to a real aircraft with confidence.

Sou piloto com licenças PP, PC e PAGA desde 2008, com mais de 10.000 horas de voo. Ao testar o MSFS 2020, fiquei surpreso com o nível de realismo e a capacidade do simulador para treinamento e capacitação, mesmo com algumas limitações impostas pelo hardware do usuário. O software é excelente e tem se mostrado útil tanto para entretenimento quanto para fins educativos. Posso afirmar que, das aeronaves com as quais me familiarizei no simulador, seria capaz de pilotá-las com segurança na vida real. Recomendo o uso, embora existam alguns bugs — como na pista de Dubai, onde realizei pousos perfeitos, mas o jogo considerou incorretamente, registrando pontuação abaixo da real.

Claro que isso não substitui a experiência real, mas acredito que, em breve, será possível sair de um simulador e pilotar uma aeronave real com segurança.

Caso alguém precise, ofereço consultoria e treinamento de voo no MSFS.

game hasnt worked in months for no reason!!!! says game is running but nothing!!! cant find any forums or chats to fix this problem.

Xbox live b.s. and Microtransactions galore, if you want more planes or airports, and you'll only get like 5 mins of trial time before deciding to refund or not, since the 120GB download while the game is "playing" instead of using steam eats up the normal 2hr time window for refunds.

Once you're in the air its pretty great, but clearly Microsoft/Xbox just loves killing good games. Don't get scammed like I did. :/

A Frustrating Mess of Updates

Every time you launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, you’re forced through a maddening, multi-step update process.

Server speeds are inconsistent, and update days often mean hours of downtime. Want to fly? Not until Microsoft says you're allowed to and you’ll wait, helpless, while it churns.

For a product this large, the update system feels outdated, intrusive, and unnecessarily hostile to users.
I spent more time updating it than playing it.
