The default full-screen implementation has some compatibility issues. In my case, the game always runs minimized. Clicking it makes it come up, then immediately minimize again. Launching it about 20-30 times allows it to run properly once, but any alt-tabbing will break it again.

Plus the shadow drawing distance is too low that it breaks the immersion and there is not any option in the graphics settings to change that
