Fifteen years have passed and Skyrim is still more popular than modern triple AAA titles as Elden Ring from 2022 and its absurdly bad DLC from June 2024. Skyrim just refuses to die with mods counting 20 000 and above. With average playing time of Skyrim player well over 1500 hours compared to average of 50-60 hours in Elden Ring before abandon game and sunken ship.

This absurdly mediocre DLC shows us the reasons why Skyrim is immortal. It is a mere pain to play it and want to cry. Because these bosses in the DLC are so horrendous that one must begin to cry realizing that FROM Soft has reached a point of creative exhaustion and burnout. I have the feeling that Memezaki was terribly frustrated with this DLC not knowing what to offer anymore except, knowing that they will cook up a repugnant slumgolian that even your dog will turn its head away. Disastrous boss design, as if cut the head of Midir and put it on the torso of the Gaping Dragon from and slap the moveset of the Sanctuary Guardian from DS1. Copy pasta movesets, anticlimactic and predictable bosses, artifically pumped to gazillion of HP and it just feels as manufactured and simulated difficulty. Boss music - obnoxios and loathsome.

The lore of the DLC falls flat and boring as the original Elden Ring. The burnout is so severe that the lore borders lunacy and conspiracy theory among of the most faithful zealots of ER. Pure crap in short and not going to waste my breath on it except to say I'd rather read the story of Sandokan the Tiger of Mompracem. FROM Soft should learn a lesson from the Korean developpers of Lies of Pi, and of course SKyrim.

Performance of the game is attocious. For how long FROM Soft is squeezing their archaic engine which runs poorly even on modern state of the art hardware. Just like a game from the 20's might not even run anymore on modern machines. For how long is FROM Soft going to cut corners in the R&D and market a mediocre poorly optimized obsolete product at prime bucks ? CHeesus even Dark Souls 2 run better than this !

Small and tiny world, open vast and empty vacuum areas, few legacy dungeons, repeatable and boring enemies, boring gameplay and waste of time.

I am not surprised that record number of players refunded this DLC and moved back to Skyrim. Nor am I surprised that Memezaki sold 30% of the company to Sony as he knows they can't innovate nothing anymore and is selling the toxic assets to Sony.
