The thing about morgott is that he is mostly unpunishable on everything he does unless you're using a fast weapon. You can get good punishes after he does his big twirl weapon combo then jumps into the air and slams the ground, and also in phase 2, you can hard punish his grab, and you can hard punish his double blood slash. Since you have a fast weapon you can get more little punishes, you can get a single rolling r1 punish on a few of his standard slashing moves
Chilling Mist Ash of War is great way to inflict frost.
It is generally safest to stay close to him, roll to his sides.
He does not have much health. Ranged combat options are useful against him.
I appreciate the offer, however I want to learn how to defeat him on my own, hence why I'm asking for advice about dodging his move sets etc.
Yes, I believe I'm at upgrade 8 or 9 with a total of 13 flasks available.
Is frostbite a permanent affliction on them, or is it something that wears off over time after you apply it once?
Sorry, I don't want to summon anyone or anything, I want to defeat him solo. Ideally with as few "gimmicks" as possible (So not using shackles and such). It's a personal challenge to try and get good enough at the game to defeat every boss without having to use things like that.
Blessings and spells are fine, but just not things that allows me to near outright cheese the boss I guess is the rule I'm going for.
Hmm, I don't think I've unlocked that AoW just yet (Double slash) will have to try and search for it. Right now I've just been using Square off the entire time and using the light attack when the opportunity arises or trying to parry what few attacks I've managed to memorize the timing.
That is very possible, I'll see if I can grab a screenshot. I'm not really following any guides really for my "build" but I do have at least one larval tear that I can use to respec if necessary.
