FromSoft should ban Linux
Even if they fix the problem, FromSoft should still ban Linux forever for being such a naughty boy.

I'm putting this Slip 'n' Slide on the side of Mt. Everest, covering it in Diddy's entire supply of baby oil, and riding it to hell.

sudo apt-get FREEDOOOoooo... ugh
We should ban smart refrigerators. They are the true blight and plague upon our society, and clearly responsible for terrible habits, such as cheating in Elden Ring.

I was invaded by a refrigerator last night. It spammed Borealis's Mist and drank all my Siegbrau. Little bastard! Ban 'em all!

I usually play Elden Ring on Windows, because the Steam overlay recording dosen't work on Linux for Elden Ring.

Yeah, that's fair.
Those stripped by the grace of windows shall all meet blue screen of death, in the embrace of a Linux ban.

I'll now play the sad, sad song on a violin.

With linux.
What problem?

It not really possible and if you don't see why it's because you don't really understand how Wine/Proton work. Wine/Proton is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications so everything appears like if the software (so ER) is running under Windows. ER don't even know if the software is running under Windows or Linux.

Your only hope is if FromSoftware fix their crap. Don't get to excited about that because this problem is not new and they seem to do nothing about this. Relying on a anti-cheat piece of code to keep the game secure is a big mistake.

Spoof account won’t work he can still invade
I dunno man from the looks of his comments he's cheating with this account. He's also racist af.

I'm speaking from experience, I had that account blocked (Unless blocking as a summon doesn't work?) but he managed to invade a host I was helping. Fortunately the host was able to alt + F4 before any damage to his save

Right on. I just thought it was kinda strange that people would post on that profile if he's using a different profile to cheat with. Maybe he's got it linked.

Maybe also this guy has figured out how to bypass both From and Steam servers, because I was always under the impression these games used Steam matchmaking. That's why blocking them prevented meeting them in-game, at least it was that way in DS3. It may have changed in ER. I dunno, but I'm blocking him anyways because it's just a general policy I have to block people dumb enough to name themselves "cheater".

Edit: I just re-read your post, and if you're with a host that hasn't blocked him, then he can still invade, regardless of whether you as phantom have him blocked or not. Pretty sure it's got to be the host that has him blocked for it to work.

I've been on many boss rushes with friends, and we'd get kicked out of the session every time Steam went down. I have to assume ER is going through Steam. Having said that, I wouldn't put it past the sweaty hikikomoris to have found a way past blocking. Still, you should do it anyway. And an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of remedy, so back up your save file you lazy bastards! Do it every time you want to start up the game.
