The other day I cornered a player in PvP and he literally spammed light roll in the corner for about 20 seconds. Forgot I was playing ER.
And then I had to laugh when I literally rolled through Commander Gaius lol.
This has been the longest lazy design that was ditched never to be re-evaluated. There shouldn't be any iframe b.ullshit of any kind on From's next game. Players should be conscious of their every move. Iframes turn the game into more arcadey stuff.
You can roll in fullplate. You can jump, climb and do many many other things. Dont know what you expect but it is not like you are a brick as soon as you wear plate armor.
Overall - nice trollmove :D
If you wear heavy armor your dodge rolls are way slower and less effective.
If you want to get the best possible out of your dodge rolls you need to wear almost no armor.
If you want damage reduction whithout dodge rolls just equip a shield and never let go off the L1 button.
However it wont even get more realistic if you use a shied cause your character can infiinitely hold guard position (as long as you dont get attacked) without getting titred of it and there is only one stamina bar for left hand (defense) and right hand (attack)

And others besides, do a google search. The idea that heavy armor restricts your movement in any way beyond being heavy is a modern myth perpetuated by tabletop games like D&D. If armor actually restricted your movement in any way, it would not have been worn on the field of battle because it would have become a liability to the soldiers wearing it, rather than a means of protecting them.
In ER and, especially, the DLC the dodge roll mechanic looks more like an exploit, where you HAVE to roll into the boss's weapon swing/AOE/explosion in order to miraculously avoid damage.
Looks more like a bug than a feature, especially since the game doesn't explain the i-frames in any way.
