I'm used to using dex builds so I can help kill invaders with fast weapons, but the DLC bosses are so dangerous that I might switch to a strength weapons, so I can meet requirements for greatshields. I'm trying to learn Divine Beast Dancing Lion well enough to solo it with <= 5 heals, after which I think I would be ready for coop. But it's turning into a huge challenge. The only base-game bosses I practiced before coop were Malenia and Maliketh. Now I don't feel ready for the easiest one.
Is it just not worth doing coop anymore? I already beat the DLC solo. If being ready for coop is so much harder than soloing something, maybe there is no point.
On the upside, after beating this boss solo, all the bosses in the base game feel like they move in slow-motion.
But I'd also like to add, that even at around Level 262 Range, some hosts have around 1200 HP(if not a bit less). I can't even help the host if they casually die to a light sneeze from the Boss.
And this is more maddening when it comes to the Putrescent Knight, the hosts tend to die before we can even fall down into the arena.
I don't even understand how these people get one-shot by everything and don't think "hey maybe there's a problem, there's no way I'm supposed to die in one hit of anything..."
That fight is such a huge offender, I removed that boss from my summoning pool too because it's such a frequent occurrence for the host to die before a helper even makes it down in time.
Too bad you aren't as good at reading as you are at being a nobody at these games!
You can do light build blood hound step.
You can do raw boss parries.
You can do deflects with tear.
You can tank with high resistence and normal medium rolls.
You can do vanilla light rolls with frame enhancement tier.
What you can't do is dps the boss like an idiot.
The thing the core game taught us to do.
But that boss brought me back to my Dark Souls 1 roots. High str, high endurance, high vigor tank n spank. He barely did any dmg to me even with the nukes, who cares if he hit me, it only took 1/6 my hp bar lol
(Player doesn't actually know how to play, did not learn)
(Uses the mechanic that is a failsafe to them not having the skill set)
(Weirdo offers advice about the thing they were unable to do)
Sir, this is a thread about the experience of someone being summoned, people summoning them, for help. You can't read and you're writing guides. You guys need to git gud at these little symbols on the screen.
As a dirty bleed/madness-turned-thorns sorcerer build the success rate feels above 10% atleast, the dps and aggro stealing capabilities of that spell makes it easier for hosts to survive, so i've been having a great time, despite most hosts dying in very similar ways
