game keeps skipping more then half the text

Hey, so whenever I click A to see more text since I am done reading that one bit it just skips like 5 more speach bubbles and I dont know why it keeps doing that

Are you sure you are not also pressing shift or the right shoulder button on your controller?

Pressing a modifier alongside A also speeds up the dialogue.
