Linux - Xbox360 controllers not working
Hi,

My two controllers (official Xbox360 controller and a controller "for xbox 360") are not working at all in the game.

I'm using Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)

I never experienced any issues with any games and those controllers until now.

I tried to enable/disable steam input and launched the game with different controller settings.

The contollers are just not functionning at all.

Any suggestions,?

Regards

same issue here, running Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS right now, tried using an unofficial Xbox360 controller at first, and now an official XBox360 controller, neither of them work at all; with or without steam input disabled

I had the exact same issue with Momodora: RutM, which is also made with the GameMaker engine. So I was able to temporarily fix that issue, but in a rather odd way.

First, go to the Steam gamepad settings and enable the gamepad layout for desktop mode. Then disable Steam Input for SotN. And then launch it, and after the "Press any button" prompt appears, Alt-Tab to any other non-Steam window and press any button on the gamepad while that window is in focus. Then finally switch to the game and see that gamepad is working!

(pls don't ask me how I discovered that solution and what I'm doing with my life :steamhappy:)

Could you check which version you are using, native or Proton? And also which runtime?

And if you're using native version, is achievements working for you?

AFAIK I was using native(i just clicked install).
The achievements worked because I've 100%'d it.

Nice! But I suppose sometimes a Proton version might be auto-selected by Steam Play. So could you please check it explicitly, on both desktop and Steam Deck?

Also let me ask an another question, if you don't mind: is "The Legend" journal entry have a voice acting, or just music?

I would tell you exactly what I had before, but I uninstalled it once I 100%'d the game. I unlocked all my achievements around Jan. 10th(so about a day or two after my original post)

I tried reinstalling it just now and it booted on both Deck and my Linux install without having to enable compatibility(so native)

It has voice acting for me in both Japanese and English.

I'm so confused right now. Controllers, achievements, voice acting in "The Legend" — all of them works for me, but only in the Proton version!

So, your compatibility settings for SotN looks like this?
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3413797896

And if you open the game settings, it says "v.1.1.g", and NOT "v2.5"?

And if you open the game folder, there is a file "assets/game.unx", and NOT "game.win"?

I'm sorry to asking you so intensely. But I must figure out what is going on, no matter the cost!

Yes, that is what I'm saying.
I dunno about the file 'assets/game.unx' because I uninstalled it again after checking for you last time :gapafrog:
