DLC: Will it be separate from the main story?

I just found out about this game, due to the trailer of the DLC, and I'm interested to play it.
How is the DLC integrated into the game? Should I wait for its release, to start a new game with the DLC integrated? Or is it separate from the main game? If I start playing the main game now, will I have to start again with the DLC?

The DLC is out in three days and is set at the very end of the main game. You can find that out from reading the DLC's store description.

If you think you will finish the game before the DLC is out I guess you can wait a couple of days.
