I bought this game on Steam specifically to use the remote play Steam advertised works with it. I ALREADY owned this game, bought from EA Play - so for remote play NOT to work with it, I feel is FALSE advertising. I requested a refund, but was denied. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GAME FROM STEAM! Liars and thieves - fool me once but never again!

Remote Play Together
1 Launch your game.
2 Make sure your friend is logged in to Steam from a supported device.
3 Open your Steam Overlay in-game (Shift+Tab).
4 From your friends list, right-click your friend and select 'Remote Play Together'.
5 Once your friend accepts the invite, they will be in-game with you.

Did you include controls for the second player in the game menu?

I sometimes had to turn the gamepad off and on after connecting.

Idk if you're still having issues but I had a problem where the remote play wouldn't allow both of us to use keyboard controls. We got it working after they switched to controller, both players will be controlling one character, so you'll need to go into the pause menu and select "assign player to keyboard".

After that we've just had some lag, but I think that's pretty typical with remote play.

My friend and I have a problem: I play with a gamepad and he plays with the keyboard only when I choose for the 2nd player to control the keyboard and this control is given to my keyboard and he cannot move

yup , same prob we had. but didn't matter cuz game never played anyways

So i just bought the game, got it to work with both controllers, different PCs. I made sure I enabled my PS4 controller as a primary controller, launched the game he had his xbox controller set up already (not sure if that matters). Once you invite them to remote play in the menu make sure to assign a player with keyboard to player one (that was me) and then after in game and we were seperate characters i plugged my PS4 controller in and it works beautifully. Hopefully this helps anyone here or future players. Took me 5-10 mins to problem solve.
